At 23 years old, it’s hard for Jacob Misiorowski to drown out the noise. With all of the pressure building ahead of a marquee matchup against Pittsburgh Pirates ace, Paul Skenes, “Miz” delivered another dominant start as he increased his chances to earn the NL Rookie of the Year.
Misiorowski and the Brewers gave Skenes his worst start of the season, with Milwaukee’s pitcher looking like the hero in front of a sold-out American Family Field.

Jacob Misiorowski Stayed Off Social Media Ahead of Pirates Game
Now 3-0 in his short MLB career, the Brewers have found yet another pitching gem. The righty has only given up three hits and two earned runs in his 16 innings pitched, as he picked up a win in his first three starts. He joins Logan Henderson as the only pitchers in franchise history to do so, with Henderson’s accomplishment also coming this year.
“It was one of those things where you wanted to try to calm yourself down as much as possible and stay off the internet,” Misiorowski said via MLB.com. “I feel like everything that I swiped was like, me and Skenes, me and Skenes, me and Skenes. I had to turn it off, had to mute it. It was a good time to spend with the girlfriend.”
Misiorowski has a sound support system around him, precisely what he needed to pitch at such a high level in one of the biggest MLB games of the year. Neither the Brewers nor the Pirates usually get this much national media attention, so for Misiorowski to go out there and do what he did with the brightest lights proves that he’s ready for the big leagues.
Jacob Misiorowski has allowed 3 hits total in 3 career starts
That’s the fewest of any pitcher in his first three appearances in at least the last 125 seasons, min 14 IP

This was his defining performance if his first two starts didn’t prove it. Sarah Langs pointed out on X that his three hits given up through his first three starts were the fewest of any in at least the last 125 seasons. While he’s yet to throw more than six innings, that’s to be expected as he consistently is pitching 100+ mph.
Against the Pirates, he threw 19 pitches that were 100+ mph. He topped out at 102.4 mph, something that hasn’t been seen from a starting pitcher in quite some time. His fastball is one of the best in the game, and he went viral for his breaking ball in his last start against the Minnesota Twins.
Misiorowski has faced the Pirates, Twins, and St. Louis Cardinals in his career, as he’s struck out 19 batters compared to walking just seven. He likely won’t make his next start until Milwaukee faces the New York Mets on the road, another solid test for the young star against the powerful Juan Soto at the iconic Citi Field.
