A’s Fire $10 Ticket Hail Mary As Minor League Stadium Turns Into a Ghost Town

The days of the Oakland Athletics are officially over. The team is moving to Las Vegas soon, although the 2025 season is being played in a minor league stadium in Sacramento, California, as the new stadium gets built in Sin City. The A’s have surprisingly started the year with a 12-13 record entering April 25.

However, fans have not been too eager to make their way to games in the small stadium in the capital city of California.

According to ESPN, the A’s attendance is the lowest in baseball, and as a result, the franchise is doing what it can and dropping ticket prices to a very low amount.

A’s Rattle Off $10 Ticket Offer

Right now, the A’s have the lowest average attendance with just 9,941. The A’s also have the lowest total attendance with 119,303, and the second-lowest is the Tampa Bay Rays at just over 190,000, per ESPN’s data.

So, the A’s have a neat offer, per Bill Shaikin of The Los Angeles Times.

“As a top hitter in the American League and now a walk-off game winner, Jacob Wilson can do everything! Celebrate this thrilling win with a 2 for $20 limited-time walk-off(er) to be there for the next must-see moment during select upcoming home games,
the official release from the team read.

The capacity at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento has a capacity of just 14,000, far lower than the regular MLB stadiums.

So, the A’s are doing what they can. As for Wilson, he hit a walk-off single on April 24 to give the A’s a 4-3 win over the Texas Rangers in exciting fashion.

On April 23 against the Rangers, the announced attendance was less than 10,000, coming in at 9,806, so it hasn’t been easy to get fans to watch this team.

A photo from first pitch on April 22 again shows how hard it is to have fans come out and support the Athletics this season.

It makes sense, especially with the ugly ending of the team’s run in Oakland and the fact they are moving to Las Vegas once the new stadium is done.

For now, the Athletics are making do with what they have, although that currently means playing in a minor league stadium.

Although some mentioned a potential return to Oakland, their time in California seems to be coming to a sad ending. And, it’s gotten to the point where they are lowering tickets to $10, so it will be worth seeing if fans gobble up this price.
