Former New York Yankees infielder Alex Rodriguez and his girlfriend, Jaclyn Cordeiro, spent some quality time in Minnesota over the weekend. The power couple have been dating since 2022 and are very close with each other’s family members, especially their daughters from previous marriages. Both sets of daughters share mutual respect and are very accepting of A-Rod and Cordeiro’s relationship.
Since hanging up his cleats and bidding adieu to baseball, Rodriguez has started expanding his investment portfolio with the A-Rod Corp. While the 14-time All-Star has invested in many different business domains, none have been as significant as his acquisition of the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Lynx, and the Iowa Wolves alongside his business partner Marc Lore and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
Together, the group has controlling stakes in the NBA team, which is currently valued at $3.1 billion. On Wednesday, Rodriguez and Lore gave a media interview, voicing their appreciation for the Wolves and Lynx fanbase and reflecting on how they wanted to bring back the winning culture to Minnesota.

A-Rod and Lore were already minority team owners and subsequently agreed to purchase controlling stakes worth $1.5 billion from the team’s then-owner, Glen Taylor. The group led by the three-time AL MVP now controls more than a 90% stake in the Minnesota basketball teams.
On Wednesday, Cordeiro shared an Instagram story post highlighting Lore and Rodriguez’s aspirations with the Wolves. She captioned the snap with a congratulatory message for both: “Congrats @arod @marclore. So excited and incredibly proud! Here’s to the future!”

In the media interview, Rodriguez reflected on taking the Minnesota teams to the next level and praised the loyal fan base.
Sitting alongside Lore, he said, “One of the things that Marc and I talked about is our fan base and how incredibly passionate they are. Knowledgeable, engaged, and how much winning means to them. And I love that their expectations for us are really, really high, and we just want to keep building on that and take it to the next level.”

A-Rod added that he knew what it took to win silverware and was determined to bring that winning mentality to Minnesota. He said, “I know what it takes to be a champion, and I’m ready to bring that same commitment and drive to create a winning culture in Minnesota.”
The Timberwolves are a team on the ascendancy and have made it to back-to-back Western Conference Finals. However, they failed to reach the NBA Finals for a second year running after losing to the eventual champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Rodriguez will be hopeful that his team can bounce back stronger next season.
