‘Wish I Was Back in the Bronx’ – Alex Rodriguez Relives Glory Days in Emotional Batting Cage Return After 8 Years

Former New York Yankees infielder and a living legend of the sport, Alex Rodriguez, spent 22 years in the big leagues with three ballclubs. His most extensive tenure out of those 22 years came with the Bronx Bombers (12) as he spent seven years with the Seattle Mariners, who had selected him as the first overall pick in the 1993 draft, and three years with the Texas Rangers before moving to the Bronx.

After playing professional baseball for over two decades, Rodriguez hung up his cleats in 2016 and excelled in business. A-Rod started to invest extensively in various lucrative businesses and companies with his own company, the A-Rod Corp, which he had founded in 1996. Besides the investment firm, the three-time AL MVP also founded two real estate/construction companies that control massive assets all over America.

As they say, “You can take the player out of the game, but you cannot take the game out of the player.” This holds true for A-Rod, who still finds ways to remain associated with baseball.

Currently part of a star-studded panel alongside Derek Jeter and David Ortiz to host various shows for MLB on FOX, he also avidly uploads instructional baseball and guidance videos on social media for aspiring ballplayers.

He says, “One way to fix that is you move this [back leg] in a little bit, you put your weight inside, and look, you have no movement. Boom. No movement. Versus… When you open, you have to close. And then what happens is, your head moves outside of your knee, and it moves towards the ball. You want to go away from the ball. You don’t want to go into the ball.”

Rodriguez recently became a majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves, his largest investment to date. The former World Series Champion continues to be a role model for the future generation.
