On Sunday, New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge led his team to a blockbuster victory in the series finale against the Oakland Athletics at home in the Bronx. The home team’s bat ran hot as they routed the A’s 12-5 to bounce back from their earlier series loss against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Yankees had earlier won game one of the series against the A’s 3-0, then lost game 2, 7-0. The AL East pennant holders fought back valiantly in the series finale, and these are encouraging signs for an offense that had hit a temporary slump in recent weeks.

Aaron Judge Reflects on the New York Yankees’ Defiant Stance
After completing the series win against the Athletics on Sunday, Judge addressed the media in a postgame interview. A media personnel asked Judge to reflect on how he felt about the team bouncing back the way they did in the three-game series and whether the ballclub had hit the panic button as a result of hitting a slump in recent games.
Judge replied, “That’s what it’s about. Sometimes you are going to get beat up, and sometimes it’s not going to go your way. You just got to come out the next day and just go to work. Like you said, we don’t really push the panic button in here. Maybe people on the outside do; that’s their job, but we just gotta show up ready to work and ready to do our thing.”

Next, a media personnel asked Judge to reflect on the ballclub’s topsy-turvy past month and its current state leading up to the All-Star week. Judge said, “Are we in first place? That’s what we’re concerned about. You know, go out there and be in first place and have a good position down the stretch.”
He added, “Nothing can shake this team on the inside or get us off our game plan. You know we have got a job to do every single day. Sometimes, it goes your way, and sometimes, it doesn’t, but the guys in this room are ready to show up and compete every single night. So, that’s all you look forward to.”
Judge Has Been in Phenomenal Form at the Plate This Season
The Yankees captain is producing yet another MVP-worthy season. He has a .356 batting average, 30 home runs, 67 RBIs, and a phenomenal OPS of 1.180 in 83 games played this season. Judge has amassed 110 hits in 309 at-bats, including 19 doubles and two triples.
The star slugger is projected to hit over 55 home runs and register more than 130 RBIs in the current MLB campaign. The Yankees are 48-35 for the season and sit atop the AL East standings. Starting Monday, they will kick off a four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre in Canada.
