Emotional Aaron Judge Reflects on Becoming a Father Ahead of First Father’s Day With Daughter

2025 has been great for Aaron Judge on and off the field. He and his wife had their first child on Jan. 27. While Judge didn’t bring a World Series home in October, he and his wife, Samantha, were able to celebrate a few months later as they welcomed Nora Rose Judge into the world.

Aaron Judge Will Play on Father’s Day for the First Time as a Father

Judge is off to an incredibly hot start in 2025, as becoming a father has ignited a spark that not even he knew he was capable of. Judge has broken plenty of records in the past, but this season is his most historic yet. He’s on pace to make more history throughout the remainder of the season, but that all hinges on whether he can keep up his pace of hitting .394.

While it doesn’t seem sustainable, Judge is riding a three-game hitting streak. He’s recorded a hit in six of his last seven games and is averaging .364 in June. The Yankees have just two more games before Father’s Day, when they will be on the road for an afternoon game against their fierce rival, the Boston Red Sox.

“She brings me so much joy, so much excitement, so much wonder,” Judge said about his daughter, Nora. “Especially on the good days or bad days here at work, when I come home to her, everything changes.”

Judge is still human and has “bad days here at work”. A bad day for Judge could be committing an error, or going 0-4 with a pair of strikeouts, but those days seem few and far between. At 3d, the righty is currently on a stretch where he has four home runs in his last three games.

Judge continued, “Hopefully she’s old enough to see me play this game. I might be a little older by the time she really starts recognizing what’s going on. I just want to teach her the importance of hard work, the importance of showing up every day for something, and the importance of being a team player. It’s all about the little things.”

Not even halfway through the 2025 season, Judge has already drawn a resemblance to Ichiro Suzuki’s historic 262-hit season back in 2004. While it may not seem possible, Judge would need to average 1.7 hits per game for the rest of the season. Already in June, he has four games with two or more hits. The “dad strength” is real, and he’ll be fully locked in on Father’s Day as the team plays in Boston.
