The 2025 MLB Draft Combine, which will take place at Chase Field in Phoenix from June 17 to 21, marks the formal start of the journey to the Major Leagues for many young baseball players. More than 300 of the top young athletes in the nation will aim to impress this week and hear their names called out on Draft night.

2025 Class All Set To Take Center Stage at MLB Combine
What started out as a little component of the scouting puzzle has now developed into a comprehensive exhibition. Teams now look at players’ demeanor, their ability to perform under pressure, and how they compare to the top players in their class rather than just their statistics and high school or collegiate film.
Additionally, for many athletes, this week can mean the difference between being selected in the middle of the draft and being given first-round consideration.
The Combine is turning into a starting point for most MLB players. Almost three-quarters of the players at the 2024 edition, 224 out of the 305 who participated, were drafted last year. It’s also important to note that this event produced 75 of the top 100 selections. Additionally, 55 past Combine participants have already made their major league debut as of this week.

5 Players To Watch Out for at the 2025 MLB Draft Combine
#1. Seth Hernandez
All eyes will be on some of the nation’s most promising young talents over the course of this week. Seth Hernandez, a skilled right-hander from Corona Senior High School in California, is one of them.
Hernandez, who is only eighteen, is already displaying the maturity, speed, and mechanics that scouts hope will one day see him at the head of a rotation. His current prospect ranking is No. 2 (according to MLB.com), and a strong showing this week might cement his place among the top three picks.
#2. JoJo Parker
Another well-known name is JoJo Parker, a Mississippi shortstop with a fluid style who can do a variety of things, including hit for contact, flash leather, and move confidently. He is the top-ranked player who has been confirmed to work out on the field, and with all 30 MLB organizations watching, this week may give him his big break.
#3. Kayson Cunningham
Then there is shortstop Kayson Cunningham from Texas, a left-handed batter with a remarkable sense of the game. His leadership has been apparent during exercises, his swing is compact, and his senses are keen. Even though Cunningham isn’t as showy as some, he has a quiet confidence that could carry to the next level of baseball.
#4. Jace LaViolette
Jace LaViolette from Texas A&M is a college player who brings great bat energy to the Combine. Standing at 6-foot-6, he has great instincts in center field and significant power potential. He is predicted to get drafted early, but might advance even further if he exhibits consistency and polish this week.
#5. Jayden Stroman
Watch out for Jayden Stroman, Marcus Stroman’s younger brother. He is trying to forge a career for himself while bearing the expectations that come with his last name. Jayden, ranked outside the top 100, is a dynamic, athletic player who brings a live arm to the mound. If he succeeds in Phoenix, he might be one of the Combine’s biggest risers.
