Following a strong performance in Week 1 behind journeyman quarterback Sam Darnold, the Minnesota Vikings take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon, missing some firepower on offense.
The 49ers are in a similar boat, as one of their most important offensive weapons is missing Week 2 after being placed on Injured Reserve this week.
Who Are the Inactives for Minnesota Vikings vs. San Francisco 49ers?
After missing Week 1 with an ankle injury, Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is the only Minnesota player who will not be suiting up for this matchup.
Along with Addison, the Vikings have three players questionable: Harrison Smith (hip), Brian O’Neill (elbow), and Ed Ingram (tricep).
O’Neill is the most likely to play on Sunday, practicing in a limited fashion on Thursday and Friday, while Smith and Ingram were only limited participants on Friday.
For the 49ers, Christian McCaffrey is the only player 100% out of Sunday’s contest.
McCaffrey was placed on IR this week. The 2023 Offensive Player of the Year will miss at least four weeks of this season, making his earliest possible return in Week 6.
Along with McCaffrey, the 49ers could be without safety Talanoa Hufanga and linebacker Dee Winters.
Winters was a limited participant on Thursday and Friday following an ankle injury, while Hufanga was limited all week with a knee injury.
