Swift and Kelce’s relationship has certainly streamed in fans from pop culture to the NFL, and it might also be the same for the other way around. The 14x Grammy winner showed up for 10 of the Chiefs’ matchups last season. Patrick Mahomes and Co. seemed invincible with Swift in the stands, winning every game until the Super Bowl. Chiefs’ fans had started to call her the franchise’s lucky charm.
Swift initially was an Eagles fan and even gave a shoutout to the franchise in the song “Gold Rush”. “I see me padding across your wooden floors/with my Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door,” she sang.
However, Swift started rooting for the Chiefs following her romance with the Chiefs’ TE. She celebrated with him after the Chiefs won the 2023-24 season’s AFC Championship and Super Bowl LVIII. They gave a wholesome moment to the fans by kissing on the field after the AFC Championship win against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium last season.
Swift also mentioned her boyfriend and football in “The Tortured Poets Department” album. The power couple performed together for the first time at Wembley Stadium, London, during The Eras Tour. Swift reenacted Kelce’s Game Day Arrow move at one of the shows.
Kelce and Swift seem to have brought two major entertainment industries closer together. Although there have been debates about including too much Swift in the coverage, the relationship has brought a variety of audiences to both NFL games and Swift’s shows.
The Chiefs’ TE attended many of Swift’s shows during the last offseason. His counterpart was in the stands to support him. The Chiefs aim to bounce back from the Super Bowl loss and fans would love to see Swift return to the stands once the season begins.
