Micah Parsons suffered a high ankle sprain during the Dallas Cowboys’ Week 4 win against the New York Giants. He has missed four games since then, and the team has dropped its last three.
Dallas lost 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, where they also lost Dak Prescott to a hamstring injury. The Cowboys quarterback is set to miss multiple games, and a challenging period awaits the fans and the players on the team.
Micah Parsons Opens Up on Dealing With Ankle Injury
Parsons recently spoke on “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” where he shared the humbling experience of dealing with an injury.
“I struggle with fitting in the world. But when I’m able to play on Sundays, that’s where I know I fit in,” Parsons said. “There’s just nothing more fulfilling and satisfying than playing this game of football. It humbled me because I’ve realized how fast this game could be taken away from you.”
The Cowboys star played all 17 games in the last two seasons and has been a durable player throughout his football career. This was his first experience of missing an extended time on the sideline, giving him a new sense of how valuable things are in life. The fans will hope he will reach newer heights once he’s back healthy.
Dallas drafted Parsons with the 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and since then, he has been their most consistent player. He will be eligible to sign a contract extension after this season, and it remains to be seen how the negotiations will go. His new contract will likely exceed Nick Bosa’s five-year $170 million deal that the 49ers star signed last year.
Parsons Is Set To Return in Week 10
Parsons is expected to make his return from injury in Week 10 to play against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys are already 3-5 on the season and will be without Prescott for multiple weeks.
Jerry Jones still believes in the team, and Dallas is unlikely to sell at the trade deadline. If the Cowboys lose to the Eagles this week, their season will be over, no matter what the team’s owner says.

Parsons recorded only one sack in the four games he has played this season. Once he’s back, he will be determined to put on a show to remind everyone why he is widely considered one of the league’s best defensive players.
Parsons’ addition will be a massive boost for a defense that is ranked third-worst in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (147.8). The Cowboys are also the league’s second-worst scoring defense, allowing an average of 28.1 points per game behind only the Carolina Panthers.
Given the talent on Dallas’ roster, the results and performance this season have been completely unacceptable. Given how things are shaking up for the Cowboys, the team will have a new head coach after this season, who will also have the luxury of drafting a player with a top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
