Micah Parsons Injury Update: Cowboys Superstar Dealing With Flu Ahead of Eagles Showdown

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is dealing with an illness. Will he play against the Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 14?

Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons was added to the injury report for an illness. Will he be healthy enough to play Sunday night against the Eagles?

Micah Parsons’ Week 14 Illness

Parsons is a key piece of the Cowboys defense, and having him out would be a major loss. Luckily, Parsons is expected to suit up despite being under the weather with flu-like symptoms.

ESPN reported that this virus has been going around the team and even affected quarterback Dak Prescott last week.

While he may not be feeling 100 percent, Parsons is ready for the challenge against the Eagles.

“It’s always one of the biggest games in football, if not the biggest,” Parsons said. “The intensity is always high, the emotion’s high, everyone wants to win … You know it’s a brawl. It’s always one where you got to get the ice bags ready.”

Parsons has 42 tackles, 11.5 sacks, 26 quarterback hits, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery for the Cowboys this season.

The Cowboys did not issue injury designations to any player on their 53-man roster on Friday, but head coach Mike McCarthy had an appendectomy earlier this week. McCarthy returned to work on Friday and is going to be on the sideline in Dallas on Sunday.

The 9-3 Cowboys have been on a hot streak lately, as they have taken home six wins in their last seven games, with the only loss being to the Eagles.

Just four weeks ago, the Cowboys and Eagles met for the first time this season. In the 28-23 Cowboys loss that came down to the final drive, Parsons had a season-high nine tackles, plus three quarterback hits.

After the Eagles took a loss to the 49ers last week, the Cowboys are in striking distance of the top seed in the NFC. This adds even more intrigue to the game, as a lot is on the line for Dallas.

“It’s about just winning and going out there and dominating,” Parsons said. “You want to go out there and make a point at some point throughout the season, and just no matter who’s in front of you, just beat the hell out of them.”

Since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2021, Parsons has missed only one game and quickly established himself as one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL today. Each of the last two seasons, Parsons has finished as the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year.
