Players Era Finals: Time and Streaming for Michigan vs. Gonzaga, Tennessee vs. Kansas, and Others

The Players Era Festival has spent Thanksgiving week reshaping the early college basketball landscape, and now the action reaches its final stage. The Players Era Finals bring together some of the nation’s most intriguing men’s teams for matchups that promise real stakes, from résumé-boosting wins to momentum-setting performances as December approaches.

With Michigan, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Kansas, and several rising programs in the mix, the event is repeating the success of its high-profile debut in 2024.

Championship Game: Michigan Wolverines vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs

    Date: Wednesday, Nov. 26

    Time: 9:30 p.m. ET

    TV: TNT

    Streaming: HBO Max

Few November matchups will offer more intrigue than No. 7 Michigan meeting No. 12 Gonzaga on the neutral floor of the Players Era Festival.

Michigan arrives with a new identity under Dusty May, bolstered by a revamped roster, steady guard play, and a defense that has tightened noticeably compared to last season. The Wolverines lean on improved rim protection and more balanced scoring, creating a punchier, more competitive unit.

Gonzaga enters with its usual blend of continuity and high expectations. Mark Few’s team is bigger, stronger, and more efficient than last year’s edition, especially in the frontcourt. The matchup hinges on whether Michigan’s bigs can slow Gonzaga’s interior scoring and whether the Wolverines’ guards can limit the pace. It is a compelling chess match between a program on the rise and a perennial tournament threat.

Michigan beat San Diego State (94-54) and Auburn (102-72) to be eligible for the championship game, while Gonzaga defeated Alabama (95-85) and Maryland (100-61).

Third-Place Game: Tennessee Volunteers vs. Kansas Jayhawks

    Date: Wednesday, Nov. 26

    Time: 7 p.m. ET

    TV: TNT

    Streaming: HBO Max

Tennessee’s defense is every bit as advertised. Their physical perimeter coverage, length at the rim, and experience in pressure situations make them one of the most complete teams in the field. Offensively, they are getting better production from their wings, and the rotation runs deeper than in previous years.

Kansas brings firepower of its own. The Jayhawks have one of the most skilled backcourts in the country and continue to thrive through disciplined execution and high-efficiency shot selection. Their inside-out attack forces defenses to choose between closing out shooters or doubling strong post play. Tennessee’s defensive discipline will be tested by the way Kansas moves the ball, and this game could swing on which team dictates tempo.

Tennessee outpointed Rutgers (85-60) and No. 3 Houston (76-73) to meet Kansas, which beat Notre Dame (71-61) and Syracuse (71-60)
