With the Michigan Wolverines back in the Final Four, former Michigan star Jalen Rose reunited with some familiar faces during Saturday’s Final Four game between the Wolverines and Arizona Wildcats at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
All five members of Michigan’s iconic Fab Five (Rose, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson) came together for an alternate broadcast of the Wolverines’ clash with the Wildcats, and Rose couldn’t contain his excitement.

Rose, Webber, Howard, King, and Jackson became the first all-freshman team to compete for a national championship in 1992.
Those five players were part of a 1991 recruiting coup for Michigan. They all played together in the 1991–92 season, reaching the NCAA Men’s Tournament national championship game before losing.
Then, as sophomores during the 1992–93 season, the Fab Five led the Wolverines back to the national title game. Unfortunately for the Fab Five and Michigan fans, they lost both championship matchups, first to Duke and then to North Carolina.
Rose topped Michigan scorers in that 1991–92 season by averaging 17.6 points per game. Webber was next at 15.5 points per game, followed by Howard’s 11.1 points-per-game average for the Wolverines.
On Saturday, Rose posted a photo of himself and his former Michigan teammates on X with the caption: “Brothers for life.”

The Fab Five are one of college basketball’s most influential and interesting teams. ESPN made a documentary about them back in 2011. Prior to the Final Four matchup against Arizona, Michigan head coach Dusty May raved about the Fab Five’s impact.
“Other than Michael Jordan… I don’t think there’s ever been a group [that] changed the culture for the better of our sport [more] than the Fab Five,” May stated.

These days, Rose can be seen providing analysis on college basketball games for Peacock. He spent some time at ESPN before getting laid off by the network.
Webber, too, has provided NBA commentary for TNT Sports in recent years. Howard had a stint as head coach of the Wolverines’ basketball team, but he was fired in 2024.
Rose, Webber, Howard, and King all had NBA careers after their collegiate careers ended. King played two seasons with the Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets. Rose played for the Nuggets, Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and Phoenix Suns.
Webber suited up for the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons. Webber had the most success in the NBA, becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 1993 NBA Draft, a five-time All-Star, a five-time All-NBA selection, Rookie of the Year winner, and more.
All five Wolverines stars had a chance to celebrate on Saturday night as Michigan earned a trip to the national championship game. The Wolverines defeated Arizona 91-73 and will now face the UConn Huskies for the championship on Monday night.
