Last week, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill mocked former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Mecole Hardman for signing with the Buffalo Bills. This week, Hardman is making his debut with the Bills in the team’s Week 11 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In the first quarter of the game, Hardman made a big play. Despite throwing shade at him last week, it elicited a response from Hill.

How Did Tyreek Hill React to Mecole Hardman’s Buffalo Bills Debut?
Despite being a wide receiver, Hardman has also spent a lot of time making highlights on special teams. Whether he’s returning a punt or a kickoff, his speed makes him a threat wherever the football is kicked to.
In the middle of the first quarter, Hardman returned a kickoff for 61 yards, and in response, Hill posted, “Yeaaaaaaaa meeek,” on social media.

The game is currently in halftime, and aside from the kick return, Hardman only has one target and no receptions. However, Hardman’s speed is undeniable, so all it takes is one play for him to make an impact. In addition to Bills quarterback Josh Allen’s big arm, I suspect a big play is coming sooner rather than later.
Despite the trash talk that Hill gave his former teammate last week, he clearly still supports the player. After all, they are very comparable players in terms of archetypes, being traditional speedster wide receivers.

The best season of Hill’s career came in 2023 with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and offensive-minded head coach Mike McDaniel. In 2023, he caught 119 passes for 1799 yards and 13 touchdowns. His receiving yards and receiving touchdowns led the league, as well as his total of 112.4 receiving yards per game. He also ranked 1st in PFSN’s WR Impact metrics that year.
Mecole Hardman
Despite playing with a similar skill set, Hardman has not been nearly as impactful as Hill has been. Hardman has played for three teams in his career: the Chiefs, the New York Jets, and now the Bills. However, he was also on the Green Bay Packers practice squad but was cut.
As a receiver, Hardman has caught 178 passes for 2302 yards and 16 touchdowns. As a runner, he’s recorded 190 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Finally, as a kick returner, he’s only returned one kick for a touchdown.
