Shortly after Matthew Stafford was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, his wife Kelly embarked on a podcasting career. The couple had spent 12 years of their lives with the Detroit Lions.

Kelly Stafford’s podcast, “The Morning After,” has slowly and steadily built a core audience. However, with her new podcast venture, Kelly is thankful to Taylor Swift despite admitting the jealousy she has for the pop icon.

Matthew Stafford’s Wife Kelly Credits Taylor Swift for ‘Timeout’ Podcast

Last year, Travis Kelce’s new girlfriend brought eyeballs on the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL that had previously eluded the sporting league. With this huge influx of new fans, especially young girls and women, Kelly Stafford has found her niche.

“The ‘Timeout’ is literally thanks to Taylor Swift because she’s gotten a lot of women into football,” Kelly said on Jana Kramer’s podcast. She now releases two episodes of her podcast per week. The episodes on Tuesday’s titled Timeout focus on the game and its rules.

“As I’m doing this, I’m realizing how much I don’t know,” Kelly Stafford said.

“It’s a lot tougher than I thought to know the ins and outs. I know the basics, which helps me watch it. But that’s what ‘Timeout’ is. It’s basically learning the basics so people can enjoy it more when they’re watching it with their significant others.”

Why Is Kelly Stafford Jealous of Swift’s Entrance Into the NFL?

Last month, Kelly confessed on her podcast her feelings regarding the 14-time Grammy winner receiving continuous NFL media attention.

“I will say, I kind of got tired of the Chiefs’ coverage of it, actually the NFL’s coverage, of this budding relationship last year,” she said.

“It was a good business decision for the NFL, but I almost felt like it was outshining the games. That’s what bothered me. I was a little jealous of the fact that they were getting all this attention, and all of a sudden, the football game was the sideshow. So yeah, maybe I let jealousy get the best of me,” added Stafford.

The mother of four girls, however, has overcome those feelings and even surprised her daughters with a trip to Swift’s Eras Tour performance in New Orleans. She also dressed up as Swift this year for Halloween.
