Three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has had his say on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ pursuit of Aaron Rodgers, suggesting that the two parties are stuck with each other. Hasselbeck stated that despite reports that Rodgers has been holding out for other teams, the veteran quarterback is out of options.

Matt Hasselbeck Understands Why Aaron Rodgers Would Prefer Vikings Over Steelers
During a recent appearance on Fox Sports’ “The Herd,” Hasselbeck was quizzed by host Colin Cowherd about what an older quarterback prioritizes in a late-career contract. The former Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts QB revealed that at the back end of a quarterback’s career, it’s important to be where you’re wanted.
“Well, who likes me back? That’s the really important thing.”
After Cowherd labeled the Steelers’ offense as “tone-deaf,” before praising the offensive system of the Minnesota Vikings, Hasselbeck suggested that Rodgers doesn’t have a choice of teams.
“I’ve been seeing the reports that Aaron would prefer Minnesota. Who would not? Like, everyone would. Great play-caller, great head coach, great skill around you, amazing defense on the other side of the ball; yeah, I get it. But they seem to be already settled on J.J. McCarthy as their quarterback.”
‘Sit Down or Get Out’ – Hasselbeck on Rodgers’ NFL Future
The former Seahawk then likened the QB free agency market to musical chairs, before suggesting that time had run out for Rodgers.
“It’s very similar to musical chairs. There’s only a certain amount of chairs; when the music stops, the music stops. Aaron Rodgers is gonna be with the Pittsburgh Steelers. All this other talk about all these other teams, it’s not happening; I do not see it happening.”

Hasselbeck finished with a final warning to Rodgers, suggesting that he either had to accept the Steelers soon or walk away from the game.
“The music’s about to stop soon, here, and he’s gonna have to sit down or get out.”
Many have become tired of the ongoing saga between Rodgers and the Steelers. Though the situation is clear for all to see, the quarterback is still yet to sign with the team.
Rodgers has sporadically emerged from the privacy of his personal life to drop hints about his NFL future, with a move to Pittsburgh looking like an inevitability. The Steelers, meanwhile, have appeared calm about the situation throughout the offseason, passing on multiple opportunities to sign alternative options, both in free agency and the draft.
It may be taking longer than most would like for Rodgers to “sit down,” but it’s highly likely that he’ll be wearing black and gold come September.
