In Week 11, the Baltimore Ravens took on the Cleveland Browns in a close-fought intra-divisional match-up.
The Ravens won the game by a score of 23-16, thanks to a fake tush push touchdown from Mark Andrews. Here are his thoughts on the play.
Mark Andrews Comments on Fake Tush Push Play
With less than three minutes left in the game, the Ravens lined up on fourth-and-1, appearing to line up for the infamous Tush Push play made famous by Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Instead, Andrews took the ball towards the edge and ran it in for a touchdown. Here’s the play below:
I can’t get over Mark Andrews hitting his fastest ever play in year 8 with the game on the line, in the same game he became the Ravens all time receiving yards leader. Legend. pic.twitter.com/on9Q7B1Dos

Commenting on the game, Andrews broke down the play that was the game-winning score.
“Schematically, having a play on a critical down is something that we are always paying attention to; credit to the coaches for seeing that type of thing. Credit to all the guys up front, obviously Pat, Charlie making big-time blocks on the edge. From there, it was just making the right play and getting to the end zone. That was awesome.”
Typically, the play is run right up the middle of the trenches, but the Ravens broke the mold by going outside the offensive tackles. Andrews gives credit to fullback Patrick Ricard and tight end Charlie Kolar for setting the edge, which led to the score.
If they’d failed, Andrews likely would’ve been tackled in the backfield, and the game would’ve ended with a different result.
The touchdown ultimately secured the Ravens’ fourth straight win. Despite the Ravens being back at full health with Lamar Jackson back at quarterback, the game wasn’t a blowout that fans would’ve anticipated.
That’s because the Browns are the third-ranked team in PFSN’s Defensive Impact metrics, with an impact score of 85.9 and a letter grade of B.
Only a month ago, Baltimore was limping along with a 1-5 record, primarily due to its injuries. Andrews spoke on the team’s turnaround and mentality:
“I think the resiliency of this team… being able to claw our way out of that hole we’ve been in, and to come back to 5–5, sitting where we are right now, is just a credit to everyone in this organization. How hard they’ve worked, staying humble and keeping the course, and just looking to take it week to week. That’s what we are striving to do.”
Next week, the Ravens take on the 2-8 New York Jets, looking to keep their win streak alive and make a run for the playoffs.
