Kyren Williams Week 14 Start/Sit: Fantasy Outlook for Rams RB vs. the Ravens

Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams has been a fantasy football superstar when healthy, but is he a solid start in a tough matchup in Week 14?

Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams has been a scoring machine all season long and is coming off of a game in which he cleared 100 total yards against a strong Cleveland Browns defense. He gets another tough matchup this week — can fantasy football managers bank on another elite performance in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens?

Should You Start Kyren Williams in Week 14?

Most weeks, Williams’ scoring ways (10 TDs in eight games) will crack my top 10, but a matchup against the third-best red-zone defense creates a little more hesitation on my behalf.

While he’s more of a high-end RB2 than a strong RB1 this week, Williams remains a fantasy starter in all formats. His role is nothing short of elite (it’s him, Zack Moss, and Christian McCaffrey), and that sort of usage creates a floor that is worth betting on.

Per the Week 14 Cheat Sheet, Williams has at least 20 carries or six targets in six of his past seven games, which is enough to overcome any matchup.

Royce Freeman was on the field for four more snaps than me on Sunday and can safely be rostered in as many leagues as I am: zero.

Should You Start Kyren Williams or Javonte Williams?

As good as I think Javonte Williams is, I can’t go in that direction in a spot like this. The scoring equity of Kyren Williams is simply too solidified to consider sitting him down for a back that has yet to score on a single one of his 153 carries.

The matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers is a good one for all Denver players, but the Chargers have been slightly more vulnerable through the air of late on defense, and that could cap some of Javonte’s production in this spot.

Should You Start Kyren Williams or Tony Pollard?

The matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles’ run defense is a concern for Tony Pollard, but I’m not dropping him in the fantasy rankings lower than I have Kyren Williams this week.

Dallas’ starting running back has seemingly found his rhythm of late — a rushing TD and 3+ catches in three straight games — and given the level that this offense is operating at as a whole, I expect them to have more scoring chances than the Rams, even in a difficult matchup.

Pollard, in my opinion, is more likely to score this week and is more likely to produce a splash play in the passing game — he’s my pick over Williams this week.
