Khalil Shakir has been the most consistent wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, while Keon Coleman is coming off a week in which he had a nearly invisible stat line.
Heading into Week 3, which player is the better pick for fantasy football managers? Let’s look at the fantasy outlook for both Shakir and Coleman.
Projecting Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman’s Fantasy Output in Week 3
In the Pro Football Network Start/Sit Optimizer, PFN’s Consensus Rankings say that Shakir is the player to start. His projected 10.1 points include three receptions and 53 receiving yards. That stat line outperforms the consensus for Coleman (8.5 points, three receptions, and 42 receiving yards)
My ranking of these two wide receivers aligns with the consensus. With Shakir, fantasy managers can expect at least 10 fantasy points, but with Coleman, it’s anyone’s guess what his production will be on Monday night.
Shakir’s Week 3 Fantasy Outlook
With Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis no longer in Buffalo, the opportunity opened up for Shakir to become the Bills’ No. 1 wide receiver. And so far, that’s exactly what he has become.
Shakir, who had only 39 receptions last season, has caught the ball all eight times he’s been targeted this season. He is one of only five players — and one of only three wide receivers — who have been targeted eight or more times and has a 100% catch percentage.

This is nothing new for Shakir. In fact, since the start of the 2022 season, Shakir has caught 78.1% of his targets, the second-highest catch percentage among wide receivers with at least 70 total targets over this span.
And along with being the most reliable receiver, Shakir has also been the most consistent of quarterback’s Josh Allen’s receivers, coming up with at least 10 fantasy points in each of the first two games this season.

He has also averaged at least 10 yards a reception in both games.
If a decision between Shakir and Coleman does have to be made by fantasy managers, it seems illogical not to choose Shakir for Week 3.
Coleman’s Week 3 Fantasy Outlook
In just his second career NFL game, Coleman nearly drew a stat line with only zeros against the Miami Dolphins. Despite being on the field for 91% of the Bills’ offensive snaps, Coleman was targeted just once.
That turned out to be the only non-zero in Coleman’s stat line, a disappointment, considering he had five catches for 51 yards in his NFL debut two weeks ago, including a 28-yard reception.

It’s hardly a stretch to say that the Bills will likely try and get the ball in Coleman’s hands Monday night.
This is still a player that had 11 touchdown receptions in 12 games last season for Florida State. And his 12.8 yards per reception average in Week 1 this season shows he is capable of being productive for the Bills.
