The Cleveland Browns suffered another embarrassing loss on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco defeated Cleveland 26-8. The Browns’ inability to create any sustainable offense against a defense as injured as the 49ers angered fans and analysts. ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo called for head coach Kevin Stefanski’s job after the game.

Why Did Tony Rizzo Call for Kevin Stefanski to be Fired?
Following Cleveland’s Week 13 loss, Rizzo said, “To watch this garbage week after week and nothing changes. How in the hell does Stefanski have a job here? The last two seasons he’s 6-23. Oh my god, 23 f–ing Mondays that I’ve got to come in here and kiss ass. I’m done with it. I’m done with everybody. Get out.”
That level of frustration isn’t surprising, but hearing it said that bluntly on the radio hits differently.
“How in the hell does Stefanski have a job?,” – @TheRealTRizzo says it’s time for the Browns to make a change at HC.

Rizzo’s angry rant reflects exactly how many Browns fans feel right now. The entire city of Cleveland is sick and tired of watching this coaching staff consistently fail to put together anything resembling a functional offense.
Stefanski, who is supposed to be a great offensive mind, simply hasn’t put together a resume that backs up that label. Instead, all the Browns have gotten is inconsistency, constant regression, and weekly offensive performances that make fans wonder what the plan even is.
In six years with the Browns, he has had only two winning seasons. Although one of those winning seasons came in 2023 with four different starting quarterbacks, including a 38-year-old Joe Flacco, it’s clear the goodwill is starting to run out.
The Browns’ offense has been the opposite of impressive this season. According to PFSN’s offensive impact metric, Cleveland has the 32nd-ranked offense in the NFL with an impact score of 53.1.
On Sunday, they mustered up only 253 total yards of offense. That is only slightly better than a Carolina Panthers team that turned the ball over twice six days before. Given that the 49ers have virtually no pass rush, the fact that Stefanski was unable to get Shedeur Sanders into a rhythm is terrible.
At this point, the Browns’ front office has to seriously consider firing Stefanski this offseason. With a losing record of 43-53 and an offense that continues to trend downward, it’s time to move on. Cleveland needs a difference-maker at head coach – not another season of the same results.
