Former Kansas City backup Blaine Gabbert is currently a free agent, and the team likely wanted to upgrade that role on their roster. Therefore, the Chiefs have reportedly signed former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz to a one-year deal.

Following his performance in Week 18 last season, Wentz likely earned the opportunity to back up superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes in 2024.

Police Searching for Rashee Rice in Connection With Dallas Major Accident

While local authorities continue to work through what exactly happened during the major car accident in Dallas, Rice is now cooperating with the investigation. After a troubling report seemed to suggest that Rice was avoiding authorities and any involvement with the situation, his lawyer released a statement on Monday stating that he’s going to take the necessary steps to address the situation responsibly.

Will Helms’ 2024 NFL Mock Draft

While the Chiefs have re-signed several of their former starters this offseason, Donovan Smith remains available on the free agent market. Smith started 16 total games at left tackle for the Chiefs last season. NFL Announced Performance-Based Pay Distributions for 2023

As the Chiefs continue to work through their situation at left tackle, one of their current starting offensive linemen was rewarded with a hefty bonus on Monday.

The NFL announced their performance-based pay distributions for last season, and KC guard Trey Smith earned one of the biggest bonuses. Smith received the seventh-largest bonus, earning $865,484 for his performance in his third NFL season.

The Royals are looking to fund the construction of their new stadium, while the Chiefs are looking to renovate Arrowhead Stadium.
