Fantasy Injury Update: Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker, and Zack Moss Impacting Week 17 Rankings

Here are injury updates for RBs Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker, and Zack Moss as we enter Week 17 of the NFL season.

If you are checking this article to see what you need to do in fantasy football, then you are probably playing in a championship game. First off, congratulations on that achievement. This has been a tough year with so many injuries, stars not reaching their potential, and even fifth-round draft picks having historic seasons.

So, in order to make sure that you are in the best possible situation to succeed, you have to have up-to-the-minute updates on key players. Let’s take a look at running backs Josh Jacobs, Kenneth Walker III, and Zack Moss and what their status is for Week 17.

Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy

Josh Jacobs, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Editor’s note: Jacobs is set to be a game-time decision for Week 17, per head coach Antonio Pierce.

Don’t look now, but the Raiders have been playing some great football as of late. They are coming off a 20-14 Christmas Day win at Arrowhead Stadium against the Kansas City Chiefs. What made it even more impressive was the fact that they were able to get the win without Jacobs on the field.

While it is still early in the week, it appears like there is a good chance that Jacobs won’t be able to play against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. Jacobs has missed the last two games, and he hasn’t practiced this week, which isn’t good for his playing status.

The Raiders still have a chance to make the playoffs, but it is fairly small. With that in mind, and this being a contract year for Jacobs, they may be holding him out to make sure he is truly healthy when he gets back. Right now, Zamir White is also playing some outstanding football for Las Vegas.

Two weeks ago, he had 17 catches for 69 yards and one touchdown against the Chargers, then had 22 carries for 145 yards against the Chiefs.

If Jacobs is unable to go, White could be a sneaky fantasy Flex option in Week 17.

Kenneth Walker III, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Editor’s note: Walker was listed as a DNP again in practice on Thursday.

Walker was drafted in fantasy with high expectations for this year, as he was looking to build off a very impressive rookie year consisting of 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns. He is still on pace for that type of season, but he has had to battle a lot of nagging injuries all year.

In the game last week against the Tennessee Titans, he finished with 16 carries for 54 yards. He was battling a shoulder injury entering the game but played through it. He is still dealing with the shoulder injury but also an undisclosed illness that kept him out of Wednesday’s practice.

The Seahawks are playing in basically playoff eliminator games the rest of the way, so the team could absolutely use him. Stay tuned for the next 24 hours to find out more about his status, but right now, it feels like Walker is going to be able to give it a go. This feels more like a situation where Seattle wants him to be well-rested on game day.

Zack Moss, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Editor’s note: Moss has been ruled OUT for Week 17.

While he doesn’t quite have the role for the Colts that he did early in the season, Moss is still an important part of the offense.

Moss wasn’t able to go in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons, and the team lost 29-10. While he isn’t quite the player Jonathan Taylor is, he is a great change-of-pace back who is capable of having big games.

While he didn’t play last week, it is looking like he may be able to give it a go on Sunday. The forearm is still bothering him, but he was back practicing in a limited role on Thursday. The game against the Las Vegas Raiders is a big one, as the loser of that game probably doesn’t have a path to the playoffs.
