The 2025 season has been a weird one for the Buffalo Bills, led directly by the uneven season that Josh Allen is having. Through 10 weeks, the goings have been rough.
In a blockbuster Week 11 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, many had to be hoping for Allen to bounce back in a major way. Unfortunately, things got brutal almost immediately, and fans were ready to call him out on it.

The Josh Allen Regression
Allen is fresh off winning his first MVP award, and many hoped that he could take the organization back to the promised land. However, this season has not been what fans expected as the Bills don’t even hold the first seed in their division.
The biggest problem with Allen through the first few years of his career was his propensity to turn the ball over. A constant asterisk against his success, it seemed like he had resolved his problems the previous season.
En route to winning MVP, he threw just six interceptions all season long, the fewest of his career. Unfortunately, it seems like he is regressing to the mean rapidly this season. Coming into Week 11, he already had five interceptions, alongside two lost fumbles, to his name.

But, against Tampa Bay, the game got off to a brutal start, as he immediately threw pick number six, this time on the opening drive of the game for the Bills. Fans weren’t willing to stay quiet any longer, as the complaints began against him.

Others believed it was a return of a younger version of the reigning MVP, who had a major decision-making problem. As the legendary Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin wrote, “That was the OLD Josh Allen @BuffaloBills,” it was hard to argue with his assessment.

As one fan claimed, “Josh Allen just had one of the worst plays of the season,” another fan added to the sheer bizareeness of the play, saying, “Josh Allen with the most insane interception I’ve ever seen.”

For some, the rationale behind the growing mistakes from the franchise superstar in Buffalo was simple. “All the Josh Allen trick shots that were working last year are now being intercepted this season.”

Allen has been the centerpiece of the franchise for the better part of a decade. As such, he has been paid like one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and rightfully so. Simply put, the Bills have a right to expect better from their best player.
So far, he hasn’t provided that level of production to the team. But, given his track record, one has to assume that things will take a turn for the better sooner rather than later.
