Jordan Travis’ Agent Takes Aim At New York Jets For Causing QB’s Injury Setback

This New York Jets team is transitioning, as the Aaron Rodgers era did not work out in his two years in New York.

While it is unknown what the Jets will do at quarterback, they do have an unknown and possible quarterback, Jordan Travis, whom they selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, the agent of that quarterback is not happy with the Jets and how they handled his client last year.

Agent of Jets QB Jordan Travis Blames Team for Injury Setback

Travis was drafted by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Travis played QB at Florida State and had a successful last season at FSU before a gruesome injury ended his season, which was the last time he set foot on a football field.

According to Rich Cimini at ESPN, Travis’ agent blamed the Jets for issues with his rehab during the 2024 NFL season.

“His rehab with the Jets was not the best. They tried to rush him. It was too fast. There was pressure on the coaching staff, and they tried to get him going sooner than the timeline really was. That caused the setback, and we had to shut him down completely.”

Cimini went on to say that the Jets declined to specify the nature of Travis’s setback, just that he experienced “swelling and soreness in his surgically repaired left ankle” and that the Jets adhered to the plan set forth by Travis’ surgeon, orthopedist Robert Anderson.

Luckily, Travis is expected to be ready for the 2025 season and said, “I’m optimistic” when asked about his status for next year.

While they will have to do something via free agency and/or the draft, the new Jets coaching staff is excited to work with Travis, per Cimini. They will not enter the season without making a move, but having some QB competition could bring out the best in Travis, who has exciting skills to work with.

It has been so long since he has been on a football field, so it is easy to forget, but when he was at Florida State, he was responsible for 27 touchdowns (both passing and rushing combined) while only throwing two interceptions. Once he went down, the FSU season tanked, as he meant a lot to that team.

It remains to be seen what the Jets do next, but Travis is looking to move forward after a lost rookie season.
