Jonah Williams out for the season
First-round pick and offensive lineman Jonah Williams has been injured and will be out for the entire 2019-2020 NFL season. The offense will lose one of its potentially best offensive linemen this upcoming season. Williams was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals will now leave the Bengals in a vulnerable position. He will join the list of multiple first-round Bengals picks that will miss their rookie season or miss most of it.
Where does this leave the offensive line?
The Bengals will have to make things work and according to NFL Networks own Ian Rappaport, the Bengals will slot Cordy Glenn in Jonah Williams spot. Glenn is a former second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills and was traded from the Bills to the Bengals. Glenn is a significant downgrade to the first-round talent of Williams.
Jonah Williams was set to be the anchor tackle of the Bengals weak offensive line and will leave starting QB, Andy Dalton, feeling a lot less secure. It’s almost as if we are in a Ryan Tannehill situation. Dolphins fans please don’t kill me. Bad offensive lines were a staple for both Tannehill and Dalton and while one moves to a new team as a backup, the other should worry about his own line.
