Jets Predicted To Upgrade Justin Fields’ Weapons by Adding 25-TD Playmaker in 1st Round of NFL Draft

The New York Jets opted for a near-complete makeover after flaming out in their bid to compete for titles with Aaron Rodgers. With that underwhelming chapter of Jets history now in the rearview mirror, the team has set out to chart a new course.

It’s been a busy start to the offseason with the Jets getting a new general manager, head coach, and quarterback all prior to the NFL Draft.

And after the team took a shot on Justin Fields, Jacob Infante’s latest three-round mock draft has them drafting an offensive playmaker to help their new quarterback settle in.

Latest PFSN Mock Draft Sends Tyler Warren to the New York Jets

The Jets not only let Rodgers leave in free agency but also bid farewell to his favorite receiver, Davante Adams. The team’s starting tight end, Tyler Conklin, also left, leaving the team short of receiving options outside of Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.

That won’t be enough to get by, though, so Infante has predicted that the team will draft Penn State tight end Tyler Warren with the seventh overall pick.

“The New York Jets invested significant money in Justin Fields, and he figures to be locked in for the next two seasons. To give him the best chance to succeed, they should surround him with weapons.

A second-team CSN All-American, Tyler Warren had a productive year at Penn State. He’s a big-bodied tight end with strong hands, solid ball skills, and the ability to make an every-down impact.”

Warren is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft after being used in every way imaginable on offense in 2024. A player like Warren would demand attention from opposing defenses, therefore likely boosting his teammates’ opportunities as well as making plays on his own.

What Would Warren Bring to the Jets?

With Warren, the Jets would be drafting a versatile player who excels in multiple facets of the game. While his dominance in the receiving game is the most apparent strength, he’s also a force in the running game, whether it’s blocking or carrying the ball himself.

Warren’s scouting report provides a comprehensive look at his skills, but the fact that you have to scroll through a lengthy list of his strengths speaks volumes about his all-around ability.

“As a receiver, Warren offers versatility, capable of lining up in-line or split wide. He’s a natural pass-catcher with strong hands, a wide catch radius, and a knack for making every ball his. He high-points the football exceptionally well and thrives in contested catch situations. He plays strong and navigates the middle of the field with ease and uses his body to create leverage and separation.

In addition to being a playmaker on the perimeter, Warren is a physical presence in the run game and a willing blocker. He has the ability to maintain leverage and dominate in space on the perimeter and has the size, power, and strength to play in line and be a force at the point of attack. His ability as a ball carrier is worth highlighting as well. Beyond being a dominant receiving threat, Warren brings a physical, downhill running style, thanks to his experience as both a running back and option quarterback.”

The Jets have multiple needs to address come late April, but Warren’s ability to contribute in so many ways could make him too valuable to pass up when they’re on the clock.
