The New York Jets had an abysmal 2024 finishing 5-12 and the team enters the 2025 NFL Draft with the seventh overall pick. The Jets fired their head coach and general manager early in the season, and Aaron Rodgers was a major letdown returning from his torn Achilles.
New York has many offensive needs and will likely miss out on the top quarterback prospects picking No. 7. So where do they go? PFSN’s latest mock draft has them selecting one of the most dynamic players available in the first round.
Jets Select Penn State Tight End In Latest Mock Draft
The Jet offense was a mess in 2024 finishing No. 19 in PFSN’s Offense+ metric. Rodgers returned but was a shell of his four-time MVP former self throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He eclipsed 300 yards in a game once last season and threw for under 200 yards six times.
Besides Davante Adams, who was acquired via trade mid-way through the season, and Garrett Wilson the other offensive weapons were limited in 2024. Adams posted 854 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games with the Jets but could follow Rodgers out the door.
Wilson had a solid third season putting up 1,104 yards, 101 receptions, and seven touchdowns. Allen Lazard was the next leading receiver with 530 yards, so there was a steep production drop-off in the receiver room.
Tyler Conklin led the New York tight ends with 51 receptions, 449 yards, and four touchdowns, but the group was a non-factor overall. The Jets have plenty of offensive holes to fill, like along the offensive line which gave up 40 sacks last season, but PFSN’s Owain Jones has the team adding to the tight end room with the No. 7 pick.
Jones has them taking Penn State tight end Tyler Warren saying, “The New York Jets don’t have anyone to catch the ball other than Garrett Wilson heading into 2025.

Warren could be exactly what the Jets need at that position. He’s listed at 6’6″, 249 lbs., and is one of the most versatile players in the 2025 draft. The fifth-year senior exploded in 2024 from 104 receptions, 1,233 yards, and 8 receiving touchdowns. He became the focal point of Penn State’s offense leading them to the College Football Playoff Semifinal.
He added 218 yards and four more scores on the ground and finished seventh in this year’s Heisman Trophy voting. The Jets will still have a lot of work to do even if they take Warren at No. 7, but he’s a dynamic piece that can be effective in the right offensive system.
