New York Jets fans are turning to long-time fan Gary Vaynerchuk to replace Woody Johnson as the owner of the franchise.

Woody Johnson’s plans to guide the New York Jets to the playoffs after a 13-year absence have fallen by the side. However, fans believe they’ve found a messiah that can help the franchise.

Gary Vaynerchuk became a Jets fan after emigrating to the United States at the age of 3. Now, fans want the tech millionaire to buy the franchise.

Jets Fans Argue That Gary Vaynerchuk Should Replace Woody Johnson

Recently, Johnson’s micro-management of the team’s work was revealed, which fans did not take kindly to. On top of that, head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas have now been fired midseason, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is all but set to exit next year.

Over the last decade, Vaynerchuk has expressed multiple times his enthusiasm for owning the Jets. And in these troubled times, Jets fans are encouraging him to make the call.

“Gary Vee please save the Jets,” wrote one fan by tagging the 49-year-old on X (previously Twitter).

“Gary Vee u got the money to buy the jets yet? we need you,” another fan tweeted to him.

“Please buy the Jets Gary Vee,” one fan tweeted.

“Gary Vee go make an offer on the jets f**k it,” another fan tweeted.

“The time is now. Buy the jets from Woody Johnson,” one fan commented on Vaynerchuk’s unrelated post.

“The time to lead is NOW,” another fan commented.

“Gary Vee Are you calling Woody Johnson with offers yet? Only Woody could Jets the Jets this hard. You and that entire fan base deserve better,” a fan tweeted.

Johnson bought the Jets in 2000 for $635 million. Per Forbes, they are the fifth-most expensive franchise in the league valued at $6.9 billion.

Vaynerchuk, on the other hand, is worth $200 million, per Yahoo Finance.

Johnson Under Fire for Handling of Jets

The Jets are now 3-8 and all but confirmed to miss the playoffs for the 14th time in a row. With Johnson’s management issues being brought into the open, former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel took shots at him.

“How many games has Rodgers played? 12. And you’re missing 14 straight seasons,” said Daniel during his appearance on FS1. “The problem with me is Big Woody. This dysfunction stems from him.”

“Stop interfering with how your franchise is run. You hire people to do that for you. You are not a GM. You are not a head coach. Yes, you have the money. You hire those guys. Quit interfering. So, it does not start with Aaron Rodgers. It starts and ends with Woody Johnson,” he added.
