Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has been dealing with an ankle injury as of late. Will the Lions wideout play on “Monday Night Football” against the Seattle Seahawks? Here’s the latest on Williams’ status.

The Latest on Jameson Williams’ Status

Williams is good to go for tonight’s “Monday Night Football” showdown.

While Williams’ ankle had been bothering him over the last two weeks, it didn’t cause him to miss any games. It hasn’t caused Williams to miss any practice time this week either.

Williams isn’t even listed on the Lions’ injury report entering tonight’s game, so he isn’t expected to be limited in any way as Detroit takes on Seattle.

After starting the season with two monster performances (totaling 228 yards, 10 catches, and a touchdown), he was nearly invisible last week against the Arizona Cardinals. He finished the Week 3 contest with just one catch for nine yards and one rush for -7 yards. However, it seems that this was just an off-game for Williams rather than anything injury-related.

What can fantasy managers expect from Williams tonight against the Seahawks?

    Williams’ Fantasy Outlook

One catch for nine yards wasn’t exactly the encore we were looking for after a strong start to the season, but I remain bullish on Williams. He cleared a 70% snap share again and saw a pair of deep targets — they just didn’t connect.

You have to be willing to take the good with the bad in trusting a skill set like this (yes, I’m looking at you, Rashid Shaheed managers). Williams is going to be ranked as a mid-level WR2 for me more often than not, understanding that he will rarely finish in that range.

With that said, this is one of the few weeks I’m looking elsewhere.

Opponents are 4 of 14 for 76 yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions when throwing deep against Seattle this season. They are creating pressure on 44.2% of opponent dropbacks (third highest), making it tough to execute those bombs.

The upside is always there because whenever the Lions have the ball, Williams is in scoring position. However, if you wanted to play Jaxon Smith-Njigba over Williams this week as you chase a (in theory) higher floor, I wouldn’t blame you in the slightest.

This feels like more of an Amon-Ra St. Brown game or Sam LaPorta game than a Jameson Williams game.
