The Jacksonville Jaguars are riding high on confidence after snapping an eight-game losing streak against the Kansas City Chiefs. While QB Trevor Lawrence came through in clutch moments in Week 5, both he and the offense have largely been underwhelming. Instead, the team’s defense and running game have carried much of the load in their 4–1 start.
The Jaguars’ top three productive receivers have yet to score a touchdown. Could a veteran pass-catcher provide the spark this offense needs? One analyst thinks so, naming the Jaguars as a potential landing spot for a Pro Bowl receiver from the Cleveland Browns.

Jaguars Projected To Trade For Pro Bowl Talent to Boost Passing Game
The Jaguars upset the Chiefs on Monday night, improving their record to 4-1 and proving in a primetime setting that they are a force to be reckoned with in the AFC. With that win, they have already tied their season-long win total from 2024, and they managed to do so in Week 5.
For what felt like the first time this season, Jacksonville was able to find a way to utilize both Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter as key pieces of their offense, which now ranks 11th in PFSN’s Offensive Impact metric.
However, a reliable third receiver is missing for the Jaguars, and that’s where PFSN’s Josh Weil believes David Njoku of the Browns could step in.
“David Njoku has always been a tight end with a tantalizing upside, and he has shown promise when he has been healthy,” Weil wrote. “Now, with the Browns bringing in Harold Fannin Jr., they are clearly strong at drafting and/or developing at this position, as he looks like a great fit in this offense, meaning Njoku’s services could be available with the Browns sputtering out of the gates this season.”
“Look for the Browns not to force a move with Njoku, but if the correct price comes, a contender will land a real game-changing piece to their offense if he can stay healthy.”
The Browns have lost as many games as the Jaguars have won this season, and with instability at quarterback, a playoff push seems unlikely. As Weil noted, Cleveland would be open to recouping draft capital for Njoku if the right offer comes along.
Njoku, who is earning over $15 million this season, has never topped 1,000 receiving yards in a single season, but he has proven to be a reliable third receiver with nearly 4000 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns for his career. His veteran presence would be a welcome addition to the Jaguars’ young and developing receiving corps.
