It’s a new era for the Jacksonville Jaguars, with a new general manager and head coach coming in this offseason. And the changes didn’t stop there — quarterback Trevor Lawrence lost the top two target-earners of his young career, Christian Kirk and Evan Engram.
With 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. now his primary weapon, Lawrence could soon have a new playmaker to throw to in 2025. According to a recent mock draft by Fox Sports’ Rob Rang, that addition could be Penn State tight end Tyler Warren.

Jacksonville Jaguars Predicted to Take Tyler Warren in Round 1
Warren would be a surprise pick for Jacksonville. While he’s one of the most intriguing offensive prospects in this draft class, most expect the versatile tight end to go a few spots later. Rang acknowledges that tight ends taken this early rarely offer good value but points to the team’s need to maximize Lawrence’s talent.
“The track record for tight ends selected in the top 10 is not pretty, but Warren is among the few elite talents of this class. Innovative offensive mind Liam Coen will be looking for any and every way to unlock Trevor Lawrence’s potential. Pairing Warren with last year’s first-round star Brian Thomas Jr. could do precisely that.”
Lawrence’s potential is undeniable, but the Jaguars have made the playoffs only once since drafting him in 2021 — despite playing in one of the NFL’s weakest divisions. The explosive Thomas gives Jacksonville a chance to build a dangerous offense in 2025, and Warren might be a risk worth taking to make that happen.
PFSN Mock Draft Has Jaguars Adding to Defensive Line
The latest mock draft from PFSN’s Marco Enriquez, however, sees the Jaguars taking a different route. With current tight end Brenton Strange showing growth as a receiver in 2024, Enriquez projects Jacksonville to address the trenches by drafting interior defensive lineman Mason Graham.
“The Jacksonville Jaguars have a glaring defensive line need. They’ve lacked toughness on that side of the ball for years, and adding Mason Graham immediately changes that.
Graham has the potential to be a perennial Pro Bowler. He’s a powerful interior defender with quickness off the snap and an array of disruptive moves. While his trench power is clear, Graham’s football IQ separates him from other interior linemen.”
The Jaguars pressured opposing quarterbacks at the league’s third-lowest rate (16.9%) in 2024. Drafting Graham would be a great start as the team looks to fix that moving forward.
Warren Projected to the Miami Dolphins
So where does Warren end up? According to Enriquez, the versatile tight end would be a perfect fit for the Miami Dolphins offense.
“The Miami Dolphins were once again a letdown in 2024. They have so many weapons, and for some reason, they just cannot put it all together. Adding yet another playmaker on offense gives Miami some more juice as they try to get over the hump in 2025. Tyler Warren could immediately become their top option at tight end.

Warren posted over 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns last season. He’s a playmaker with the ball in his hands and holds his own as a blocker. He excels in contested-catch situations and can be utilized in multiple offensive packages.”
Miami may be ready to shift away from their “speed kills” approach after missing the playoffs in 2024. After finding success last season by pivoting part of the passing game to Jonnu Smith, the Dolphins could add another layer of versatility with Warren.
