Green Bay, Wisc. and the 2025 NFL Draft looms closer as teams will make their selections in under a month. While this may be a more unpredictable prospect pool than in years past, one thing is for certain: Travis Hunter ranks near the top. The dual threat at cornerback and wide receiver continues to back up his strong claim that he will play both sides of the ball wherever he goes. Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen has no desire to be the one to tell Hunter no.

Liam Coen Not Shy Regarding Travis Hunter’s Limitations or Lack Thereof
During a yearly meeting in Palm Beach, Fla., Coen discussed with the media what exactly he would do with the elite Hunter. There is no guarantee the WR/CB prospect drops to five, but if he does, Coen has a plan.

Coen spoke on how everyone within the organization must be on the same page regarding the Colorado superstar. That same page being he will play both sides of the ball.
“Because of his diversity, what he can do, the amount of snaps he plays, “Coen said to Brent Martineau on the Brent & Austen Show. “He’s going to play both sides of the ball, and that has to be an organizational buy-in from the coaches, the strength staff, the athletic training, sports performance, everybody has to be involved, as well as the coaches, right?
“And having patience with each side of ball, because you really don’t want to kind of put him in a box. You really just want to, ‘Hey, what does he come in and do the best?’ You’re going to be able to let him do both, so you’re going to find out what he’s best at and then, ‘Hey, let’s mold things to that and be fluid for those conversations.’”
Hunter’s Incomparable Talent Is Something He Understands
While some may try and compare him to the legendary Charles Woodson or his former coach at Colorado, Deion Sanders, Hunter is something extraordinarily unique. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner exudes confidence. Hunter has stated numerous times that he will be playing both sides of the ball. He has no fear of doing so as he claims he is a “different person.”
Hunter’s 2,625 snaps over the last two seasons stands in a league of his own. The insane snap count aside, it is the play of No. 12 during such a number of snaps that is most impressive.

Across 2023 and 2024, Hunter went for 1,979 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns on 153 receptions. Defensively, he recorded 66 total tackles, defended 16 passes, intercepted seven balls, and forced a fumble.
If Hunter proves to be durable enough to play WR and CB, he will threaten the game each snap he takes. With an undeniable knack for the game, Coen knows any NFL squad will be lucky to land the young prodigy.
