The New England Patriots‘ defense entered Thursday night’s game against the New York Jets without its best defensive tackle and linebacker. And it didn’t take long for the unit to lose arguably its best safety.
Jabrill Peppers, a first-year captain, suffered an ankle injury during the first half at MetLife Stadium. The Patriots already were playing without Christian Barmore (blood clots) and Ja’Whaun Bentley (torn pectoral).
What Happened to Jabrill Peppers?
The Patriots officially ruled Peppers questionable to return.

Peppers didn’t re-enter the game after suffering his injury. Amazon cameras captured him heading to the locker room in the closing moments of the first half, although that doesn’t necessarily indicate Peppers won’t return to the game.
Peppers entered Thursday night’s game with 12 total tackles and added four before exiting the game.
