Where Did Bond Land in Our Most Recent NFL Mock Draft?

In Pro Football Network’s latest mock draft, Bond was selected at No. 18 by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Here is what was said about the Bond-to-Denver connection:

“The Denver Broncos offense lacks some juice. Isaiah Bond would quickly fix that. An elite field stretcher with natural ball-tracking, sharp separation, and corrective body control, the Texas WR is a proven deep threat. The transfer from Alabama has quickly established himself as one of the most elusive ball carriers in the 2025 NFL Draft who possesses some of the top change of direction and proactive explosive movement in this class.”

Bond’s Best Landing Spots in the NFL

Should Bond continue to succeed in the 2024 season, there will no doubt be plenty of suitors for the junior wide receiver. Here are three potential landing spots for Bond in the NFL:

    Pittsburgh Steelers

With the QB situation still unclear in Pittsburgh, the best thing the team could do right now is focus on providing whoever ends up being their signal-called some weapons.

George Pickens is the only Steelers wide receiver who has reached double digits in receptions and has at least 15 targets so far this season. While Pittsburgh likes to utilize the tight end and running back in its passing game, you can’t help but wonder whether this is due to the game plan or out of necessity.

    Denver Broncos

Bo Nix appears to be the future for the Denver Broncos at quarterback, but where is the future for them at wide receiver?

Denver’s top wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, has the lowest catch percentage in the NFL (41.5%) among the 43 players targeted at least 30 times this season.

That’s not exactly a recipe for success in the NFL.

    Washington Commanders

Quarterback Jayden Daniels has taken D.C. by storm this season. He has been the biggest reason the Washington Commanders are off to a 5-1 start, and adding weapons around him will only make his life better.

Veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin has been excellent of late, but pairing him with another threat at the wide receiver position could make the Commanders’ offense the envy of the rest of the league next season.

    Bond’s Scouting Report

Here are some highlights of what Cummings had to say in his scouting report on Bond:

“Physically, Bond has everything he needs to be a stellar three-level threat in the modern game. His blend of explosiveness, speed, and flexibility is extremely conducive to route-running success, and those same mobility traits make him a RAC weapon defenses must respect.

“Already, Bond is a fairly smooth and nuanced separator, with an impressive route tree and good alignment versatility. And on the vertical plane, his speed — in tandem with his ball-tracking ability, body control, and steady hands — makes him a dangerous big-play threat.

“Bond is a speed threat with separation chops, but he also plays with surprising physicality. In fact, one of his most exciting traits is the authority with which he approaches positioning and how he continually forces defenders to play big with his active hands leading up to catches.”

Isaiah Bond’s 2024 Season Stats and Game Breakdown

Bond is off to a good start in 2024, ranking in the top 10 of the SEC in receiving yards per game (54.2) and touchdown receptions (four).

Here is how Bond has performed through the first seven games of this season:

    Receptions: 23
    Receiving Yards: 380
    Yards per Reception: 16.5
    Touchdown Receptions: 4
    Rushing Touchdowns: 1

Bond’s biggest opponent to date was a Week 2 matchup at Michigan, and he finished with three receptions for 51 yards. Since that game, Bond has 12 catches for 252 yards — 84 receiving yards per game — and two touchdowns, both scores coming against UTSA.

    When Is Bond Playing Next?

Bond and the Texas Longhorns will face Vanderbilt on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 4:15 p.m. ET.

Texas will look to rebound after facing their first loss of the season against the Georgia Bulldogs last week 30-15.
