The Kansas City Chiefs are set to have, arguably, their biggest game of the 2023 season at Arrowhead Stadium. The league’s best team by record, the Philadelphia Eagles, are coming to town with vengeance on their mind after the Super Bowl LVII loss.
This means Taylor Swift will be in attendance, right? After all, her beau Travis Kelce, and his older brother Jason Kelce, are in action. And this game could be a preview of a Super Bowl LVIII meeting. But a recent tragedy linked to Swift has altered plans.
Incident at Eras Tour Could Prevent Appearance by Taylor Swift
Swift, unfortunately, is dealing with a tragedy. One that is likely going to prevent her from attending the game in the suites. The Athletic’s Diana Russini confirmed what was already expected on social media early Monday afternoon.
Taylor Swift is not expected to attend tonight's Monday Night Football game between the Eagles and Chiefs in Kansas City, per sources.
The Swiftees know that though.

Per Vanity Fair, the country/pop singer and multiple Grammy winner was supposed to attend the MNF game. However, a fan death at her Rio De Janeiro show has altered her plans.
During Friday’s tour, 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado died while watching Swift perform. Her cause of death was determined to be collapse from overheating. Machado’s temperature reportedly rose to 102.4 degrees.
Swift made the decision to postpone her Saturday show out of respect for Benevides Machado.
“I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it,” Swift said on her Instagram page. “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply, and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
She immediately resumed her show on Sunday, though. However, this time, Brazilian firefighters helped provide water while free water was offered to fans who attended Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium.
However, the second show of the day needed to be postponed. “I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew always has to come first,” Swift said.
Who Swift Could’ve Met Had She Gone?
When the Chiefs had their bye week last Sunday, Kelce was spotted in Argentina watching his girlfriend perform. And he was spotted sitting next to Swift’s father.
Whenever Swift attends Chiefs games, she’s seen sitting next to Donna Kelce, the mother of the Kelce brothers, as well as their father, Ed.
Was the MNF game supposed to be the game where the parents on both sides meet?
Turns out the Swifts and Kelces were indeed supposed to meet at the highly anticipated showdown and Super Bowl rematch. Now, with Swift dealing with a schedule change, it’s likely that the meeting of parents will have to hold off for another time.
