Is Lamar Jackson playing tonight vs. Washington?

Lamar Jackson has yet to take a preseason snap, but with some teams using the third preseason game as a dress rehearsal, is he playing in the finale? The Baltimore Ravens start the season with the Raiders in Las Vegas. Does Jackson need the reps?

Is Lamar Jackson playing tonight?

Yes, Lamar Jackson is going to play a few drives with the starters in this game.

The only receiver the Ravens have that should see regular-season snaps is James Proche II. Jackson is without Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Sammy Watkins, Myles Boykin, Rashod Bateman, and Deon Cain as all are still dealing with injuries.

It doesn’t seem to matter how the Ravens try to address the receiver position. They’ve suffered from bad injury luck for a while now. Throwing Jackson out there without his core guys doesn’t make sense.

And “rust” doesn’t seem like a good excuse, either. That’s especially relevant when their Week 1 counterpart, the Las Vegas Raiders, are also choosing not to play their starting QB in the preseason.

Signs point to him playing at least a few snaps

Trace McSorley is still on the mend after suffering a sprained knee in the Ravens’ first preseason game. That leaves Tyler Huntley, Kenji Bahar, and Jackson for the final preseason game. But wait, the Ravens just waived Bahar, leaving only Huntley and Jackson.

Thus, Huntley could play every snap of the preseason finale. After all, he accounted for all 34 Ravens pass attempts in their game against Carolina. But with only two quarterbacks on the roster, it opens the Ravens up to possibly have to play Jackson. Unless they have an emergency option at QB, there’s only one man left if Huntley goes down.
