Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty came into the 2025 NFL season with great expectations upon him. Raiders fans and observers were hoping that Jeanty would jumpstart the Raiders’ offense with his rushing talents.
So far, though, it’s been a rough go for Jeanty and, well, the Raiders overall.

Is Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty Injured?
With the Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers tied at 7-7 near halftime at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Jeanty’s production has been less than stellar. But the Chargers came out and took a 14-7 lead in the third quarter.
In the first half alone, Jeanty had nine carries for just 27 yards. His teammate Brock Bowers helped get Las Vegas on the scoreboard with a touchdown catch from quarterback Geno Smith. It does not appear that Jeanty is injured at all, though.

According to the PFSN NFL RB Impact metrics, Jeanty has an impact score of 83.0 and grades out to a B. For the season entering Sunday’s road game, Jeanty had 166 carries for 604 yards and four touchdowns. The Raiders hope that Jeanty can get more carries and be more involved in the offense in the second half.
Jeanty came out of Boise State as Las Vegas’ No. 1 pick (No. 6 overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft. In the Raiders’ last five games, all of which were losses, Jeanty’s highest rush total was 60 yards against the Denver Broncos.
The Raiders have faced several issues on the offensive side of the ball. Raiders head coach Pete Carroll, in his first season leading the team, fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, who signed a major contract to join Las Vegas in that role. There were conflicting reports about how Kelly actually ran the team’s offensive schemes.
How bad has the Raiders’ offense been so far this season, entering Sunday’s game? According to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metric, the Raiders have an impact score of 59.7 and grade out to an F, which is the third-worst in the league. That says it all right there. Raiders fans were hoping things would get better, but Smith has been underwhelming this season.
Without a steady quarterback and a decent offensive line, Jeanty has found it rough going in his first NFL season. The Raiders are 2-9 for the season and aren’t even in the NFL playoff hunt. It’s going to be a long offseason for Jeanty and Las Vegas.
