IDP Fantasy Football Report: Waiver Wire Pickups and Early Week 7 Fantasy Rankings

Week 6 is nearly in the books, and it's on to Week 7! In the weekly IDP report, we'll look at waiver wire targets as well as early fantasy football rankings.

Week 6 of football is almost officially in the books, and it’s time to look ahead for our fantasy football leagues. The IDP report will provide an early look at several waiver wire priorities of varying league sizes and preliminary Week 7 IDP rankings.

Since all leagues are different sizes and have different IDP requirements, the weekly rankings might be more beneficial than the waiver list for even setting waivers. If you have any specific questions, hop into our Discord and ask me a question! Hope the waivers go in your favor.

Top Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups

Justin Madubuike, DT, Baltimore Ravens

Did you know Justin Madubuike is the leader of the Ravens in sacks in 2023? With 4.5 sacks, that puts him one off his career high.

Madubuike seems to be making the leap in year four and is putting himself on the IDP radar. He has at least four tackles or a sack in every game but one on the year, so he’s been fairly consistent, too.

Bryce Huff, DE, New York Jets

After a rough first four weeks, Bryce Huff is coming on strong. Huff now has sacks in back-to-back weeks, but even that doesn’t tell the whole story. He now has 34 total pressures on just 114 pass rush snaps in 2023, continuing to get after the QB at an extremely high level. The sacks are likely to continue, and his playing time is growing weekly — buy in now.

Blake Cashman, LB, Houston Texans

Oh, the revolving door at LB in Houston. After starting the season at MLB, Denzel Perryman lost his job, and Blake Cashman took the opportunity and ran with it. All he’s done is post 24 total tackles in the last two games as a full-time player. If you’re looking for a waiver LB to throw in next week (bye this week), Cashman should be near the top.

Dorian Williams, LB, Buffalo Bills

If you need help this week, Dorian Williams is well worth your attention. All week, it seemed like Tyrel Dodson was the option, but he barely played, and Williams crushed his first real opportunity with 10 total stops on Sunday night. With Matt Milano done for the year, Williams has a couple more chances to show the team they don’t need to make a trade for LB help.

Jamal Adams, S, Seattle Seahawks

He may never be what he used to be, but Jamal Adams should be rostered everywhere going forward. If you need proof, Julian Love had nine tackles in three of the first four games.

Adams’ return pushed him to a part-time player as Adams took over that role. A high-ceiling DB option past his bye already — get him now.

Josh Metellus, S, Minnesota Vikings

Josh Metellus is designated at safety in many places, but he’s been the slot CB in Minnesota this year and crushing it for IDP. Metellus has at least five tackles in every game on the season. Week 6 saw him post his first sack and forced fumble for a huge week. If you need a safe option to get you some points at DB, grab Metellus and fire him up.

The Top IDP Players To Start in Week 7

Quay Walker, LB, Green Bay Packers

Quay Walker hurt his knee before the bye, and little information is out beside the team hoping he’d be back. If he’s able to suit up, he’s right back in the elite LBs who are must-play guys.

MORE: PFN Consensus Rankings

While he’s been a little up and down, Walker is the only LB to post multiple 17+ total tackle games in 2023. He is a true difference-maker and week-winning upside.

Nakobe Dean, LB, Philadelphia Eagles

Normally, I’d not look to highlight two LBs, but with Nakobe Dean just back from injury and off a four-tackle game, he deserves to be mentioned. He played just shy of 50% of snaps, so that’ll trend up this week. With the playing time going up, so will the tackles. Dean has high upside, so even if it’s a week early, he’s a lineup lock.
