IDP Fantasy Football Report: Waiver Wire Pickups and Early Week 13 Fantasy Rankings

In the weekly IDP report, we'll look at waiver wire targets as well as some early fantasy football rankings as we prepare for the playoffs.

    Published on

Week 12 of football is officially in the books, and it’s time to look ahead for our fantasy football leagues. The IDP report will provide an early look at several waiver wire priorities of varying league sizes, along with preliminary Week 13 IDP rankings.

Since all leagues are different sizes and have IDP requirements, the weekly rankings might be more beneficial than the waiver list. If you have any specific questions, hop into our Discord and ask a question! We hope the waivers go in your favor.

Top Week 13 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups

Andrew Van Ginkel, LB, Miami Dolphins

The top DL add is eligible at LB in some spots too, but Andrew Van Ginkel stepped up early in 2024 without Jaelan Phillips and will be counted on again. Van Ginkel totaled four sacks in his first five games, showing solid big-play upside. He’s also tallied at least five tackles in five games for a decent floor. Get him where needed and throw him into lineups.

Anfernee Jennings, LB, New England Patriots

A pass rusher who just got his first 1.5 sacks in Week 12? Yes, depending upon your league formats.

In big play-heavy IDP leagues, Anfernee Jennings should be left on waiver wires. Yet, he has four or more tackles in seven of nine games played and is playing a ton. He needs to be rostered in tackle-heavy formats and can go into lineups.

    E.J. Speed, LB, Indianapolis Colts

E.J. Speed was the favorite to take over Shaquille Leonard’s role in the Colts’ defense and did just that. Better even since he was coming on for Leonard on third downs. Now we have a 95% snap LB who’s widely available. Speed’s six tackles last week were a little bit of a letdown, but chase the role, and the tackles will come.

    Nicholas Morrow, LB, Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles’ LB room has not been able to stay healthy much, but Nicholas Morrow is set to benefit from it. With no Nakobe Dean and now Zach Cunningham out with a hamstring issue in Week 12, Morrow played nearly all the snaps and got 12 tackles.

He’s a better bye week fill-in than Speed but can lose the full-time role when Cunningham returns.

    K’Von Wallace, S, Tennessee Titans

Yes, this is the same K’Von Wallace we’ve discussed before when on the Cardinals. Since landing on the Titans, Wallace hasn’t played a ton, but that is changing fast.

Wallace has seen 34% and 84% of snaps in the last two weeks. He’s been productive, too, tallying six and eight tackles in those games. A good DB addition where needed.

    P.J. Locke, S, Denver Broncos

P.J. Locke is a great short-term addition for DB-needy teams. As the guy filling in for suspended Kareem Jackson, his role is well-defined and decently productive.

In Week 12, Locke had his best game of 2023, totaling seven tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. Don’t expect them all like that, but he’s shown enough to deserve more attention.

Top IDP Players To Start in Week 13

Ernest Jones IV, LB, Los Angeles Rams

Ernest Jones is a scary name, as the Rams top LB played just 63% of snaps in Week 12. Despite that, he’s an elite play this week.

L.A. pulled many starters for the majority of the fourth quarter and had a lead that led to less running against Arizona. Jones has double-digit tackles in five games on the year, which is sure to go to six.

Nick Bosa, DE, San Francisco 49ers

Nick Bosa’s season started slow, but he’s been on a tear since the bye week. Over the last three games, Bosa has totaled five sacks. He has 11 tackles in that span as well, so even without the sack production, Bosa is a good bet.

Fire him up with confidence for the matchup against the Eagles this week.
