How Do You Watch the NFL Thanksgiving Night Game?

The NFL has aired three Thanksgiving games since 2006, adding a nighttime matchup to the traditional Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys Turkey Day tilts. Since they share a division with the Lions, the Packers are tied with the Bears for the third-most Thanksgiving Day appearances with 38. As for Miami, this will be their eighth Thanksgiving game and first since a one-point 2011 loss to the Cowboys.

With the high-profile matchup ready to kick off, let’s see how to watch the NFL Thanksgiving night game between Miami and Green Bay.

Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers

After a horrible start to the season, which included losing starting QB Tua Tagovailoa for four weeks and two three-game losing streaks, the Dolphins have fought their way back into the AFC Wild Card picture. They are 5-6 after a three-game win streak and look to reach .500 under the solid play of Tagovailoa.

Since returning from injury, Tagovailoa has shown why he is the centerpiece of this offense, drastically raising the Dolphins’ points per game average from 10 during his absence to 29 over the past five weeks. His resurgence has also led to better performances from WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Waddle specifically had a massive game against the Patriots in Week 12, securing eight of nine targets for 144 yards and the touchdown below.

Tagovailoa’s getting the passing game and offense back in rhythm has allowed RBs De’Von Achane and rookie Jaylen Wright to find more space and be more dynamic out of the backfield. The offense isn’t the only thing to be happy about; the defense has been turning it on, too. Rookie LB Chop Robinson has racked up 3.5 sacks in the past four weeks as he continues to trend in the right direction with more snaps.

Can they take down an impressive Packers team in the NFL Thanksgiving night game? Even when they haven’t looked their best, Green Bay has dug deep to find a way to win games down the stretch. Whether blocking a go-ahead field goal, getting a last-second field goal, or needing backup QB Malik Willis to step in, head coach Matt LaFleur and the Packers find a way to get it done.

It won’t be as easy as shutting down a hampered San Francisco 49ers roster, but the Packers have played their fair share of close games recently. Getting to host gives Green Bay an advantage, but this will be a hard-fought game from both sides with postseason seeding on the line. Will Miami’s history of poor performances when the temperature dips come back to haunt them?
