Last year, the Green Bay Packers did not take the mighty leap forward that many suspected they would. However, with a young quarterback still at the helm, they have the chance to take that step this year. As is typical for the franchise, they have been relatively quiet during free agency.
But the NFL Draft is a different story altogether. With small holes all over the roster, here’s how the latest seven-round mock draft from PFSN’s Ian Cummings anticipates the Packers to build a team worthy of the Titletown moniker when the draft comes to their hometown.

23) Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
“If a first-tier WR prospect like Matthew Golden falls to the Green Bay Packers, will they take him? That’s a question without a clear answer, but there is surface-level interest to note. Green Bay met with Golden at the NFL Combine and on a 30 visit, making contact twice.”
“In an offense emulating the ‘many mouths to feed’ model that teams like Buffalo have championed, Golden’s presence as a dynamic movement-Z WR with separation chops, RAC ability, and vertical body control could be invaluable. My comp for Golden: T.Y. Hilton,” Cummings writes.
54) Jordan Burch, EDGE, Oregon
Standing at 6’4″, 279 pounds, with over 33″ arms, Burch suits Green Bay’s ideal size profile, and has the athleticism and flexibility to function as a stand-up rusher and stunter.
Burch’s size and explosiveness are unmatched, but he is going to need to put together the production befitting of his stature to make this a worthwhile pick. If he refines his technique, he could become a long-term starter for the Packers.
87) Darien Porter, CB, Iowa State
According to Cummings, “Darien Porter might fall past the Packers’ age thresholds, but he checks every single physical box they look for. In Round 3, his size and athleticism are worth the gamble.”
With his physical attributes on point, he is as boom-or-bust as you get. However, there are positives like his processing capability off the line of scrimmage, combined with coverage abilities that would give the Packers some optimism.
124) Tyler Baron, EDGE, Miami (FL)
The antithesis of Burch, Tyler Baron, is going to bring fundamentals galore. While not the most athletically gifted, his combination of consistency and refinement ensures that he should be able to contribute right off the bat. A ready-made pass rush specialist, Baron will prove to be an immediate boost to the Green Bay defense.
159) Caleb Rogers, OL, Texas Tech
While not offering the highest potential, Rogers can slot in effortlessly and contribute immediately. He boasts ample versatility and experience in spades, allowing him to function for the offensive line without much development. And his availability will be a major positive for the Packers.
198) Jared Harrison-Hunte, DT, SMU
A fantastic athlete with elite physical traits, with a well-developed pass rush game, Jared Harrison-Hunte should be able to contribute immediately. However, far more intriguing to watch for will be his ceiling as improving his consistency and pad level could take him to that next level.
237) Zeek Biggers, DT, Georgia Tech
A huge frame on Zeek Biggers ensures that double teams fail to neutralize him. He has an insane work ethic, as evidenced by his transformation over the years. Already impressive against the run, he should be able to contribute.
But to unlock his true ceiling, work needs to be put into his pass-rushing ability, which could make him the legitimate NFL starter he projects to be.
250) Johnathan Edwards, CB, Tulane
With an impressive showcase in most measurables, Edwards has the chance to develop into something special. In his final year at Tulane, he did not give up a single touchdown while allowing less than half a yard per coverage snap.
