After a week off, host Eric Wiedeke talks about the latest report from Bleacher Report surrounding the Green Bay Packers, discusses trade talk around Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson, and the possibility of Kyler Murray and Josh Rosen being on the same team. So sit back and enjoy the podcast where anything can happen, on Any Given Friday.
Massages during meetings and drama with Greg Jennings?
Let’s start with the biggest, now meme, news about Mike McCarthy. Bleacher Report reported that McCarthy, now ex-head coach of the Packers, would schedule massages in the middle of the Packers meetings. McCarthy did come out and say he was suggested to have someone come and help with his back problems but stated they weren’t during team meetings. The discount double check QB is known for his fantastic on the field play. Now, his newest drama includes comments about former Packer wideout, Greg Jennings. Rodgers even went as far as to joke about Jennings joining the San Fransisco 49ers during the upcoming offseason. Jennings did make comments on the matter surrounding Rodgers and McCarthy on “The Herd” with host Colin Cowherd yesterday. You can watch that video by clicking here.
Duke Johnson
Ever since the drafting of Nick Chubb in the 2018 NFL Draft, the signing of Carlos Hyde, and the now recent signing of former Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt, Duke Johnson has been the odd man out. There are those that argue that Johnson has never gotten his chance. Born and raised in beautiful Miami, Florida, Johnson attended the University of Miami and was drafted by the Browns with the 77th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. Since then, he has played in all 64 games of his career with only ten starts. With limited starts, it looks like the Duke Johnson era in Cleveland is over.
Does Murray plus Rosen equal heaven?
We have a lot to unpack. There is now a possibility that the Arizona Cardinals will take two starting caliber QBs into training camp. It has been rumored ever since the signing of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury that the Cardinals could draft Oklahoma QB, Kyler Murray. With Rosen being on the outside looking in, would he be okay with having to compete on this level? In the media eyes, he should be. In the eyes of NFL fans, he has been screwed over. Rosen deserves a chance in a legitimate situation, and it looks like the Cardinals won’t let that happen.
Questions to think about during the show
Is Aaron Rodgers a drama king? Will Duke Johnson get a chance with a new team? Will Josh Rosen fight for his job against Kyler Murray in Arizona?
