George Pickens’ move from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys has caused a stir within the NFL. Following the move, the wide receiver has had his say on his new surroundings, teammates, and quarterback.
‘I Like The Mojo Here’ – George Pickens Excited to Be In Dallas
Pickens was recently acquired by the Cowboys, along with a 2027 sixth-round pick, in a trade that sent a 2026 third-round pick and 2027 fifth-round pick to Pittsburgh. Pickens is in the final year of his rookie deal, and the Cowboys will now need to agree on a long-term contract with the receiver, or risk losing him for nothing next year.

Speaking publicly for the first time about the move, Pickens revealed his excitement about playing for the Cowboys.
“I feel great. I like the mojo here. I like the swag. I feel like they have a great thing going for sure.”
Pickens had recently been joined in Pittsburgh by former Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf. Metcalf was then immediately handed a lucrative long-term contract extension, something that the Steelers were clearly unwilling to give Pickens.
Pickens Looking Forward to Playing With Dak Prescott
The Steelers are currently facing a nervous wait to find out if four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers will agree to play for them next season. Pittsburgh has seen every top free agent quarterback sign elsewhere this offseason, and will be in a tough spot should Rodgers decide against the move.
Dallas, meanwhile, has a franchise quarterback in place, something that the team’s new wide receiver appears to be excited about. Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9 of the 2024 schedule, but had strung together three straight 12-win seasons in the years prior.
Dallas will be looking to get back to winning ways in 2025, and adding a star receiver to play opposite CeeDee Lamb should be a step in the right direction. Lamb has been lacking a top running mate since the team traded Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns in 2022. Lamb should continue to dominate targets in Dallas, but both receivers could benefit massively from each other’s presence on the field.
Speaking about his new quarterback, Pickens was full of praise for the three-time Pro Bowler.
New Cowboys WR George Pickens on Dak Prescott: "Just watching his game over the years, he's a very prolific QB. Smart QB. I'm just glad to be working with him."

“I’m grateful to be here. I’m grateful to play with Dak,” he said. “Just watching his game over the years, he’s a very prolific QB. Smart QB. I’m just glad to be working with him.” Pickens comes with immense talent, but character concerns have followed him around since before he was even drafted into the league. If the Cowboys can get the best out of their newest asset, though, the sky is the limit.
