This week on the Nosebleed Seats, hosts Zach Wolchuk and Eric Chiofalo discuss the biggest deals that happened during week one of free agency. They also discuss the Dallas Cowboys, and dive deep into NFL mock drafts.
After a week hiatus, Wolchuk is finally back from South Africa & the boys recap some of the highlights from the start of free agency. What do the moves by the Oakland Raiders mean for the 2019 season? Is the lack of movement from the Dallas Cowboys something to be concerned about? How about the addition of Randall Cobb? Wolchuk also slightly questions if the Cowboys will re-sign star defensive end, Demarcus Lawrence. Is it a better move for Dallas to wait until the market comes to them, instead of setting the market?
They also discuss how the NFC East looks after the initial wave of signings & blockbuster trades. With the New York Giants trading away both wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and defensive end Oliver Vernon to the Cleveland Browns, Zach and Eric talk about how Dave Gettleman is possibly messing with the Giants future by not having a plan. The boys mention that the New York Giants look like they might have Eli Manning for years to come. That is, if they don’t draft QB Daniel Jones out of Duke University with the number 17 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Lastly, the boys dip into some of the latest NFL draft talk and go over some of the most recent mock drafts that they have seen. Could a talented defensive end like Nick Bosa end up with the New York Jets? Co-Host Eric Chiofalo mentions how that would be one of his worst nightmares. The boys do question if the Jets and Browns could be good at the same time. In this mock draft, QB Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State University ends up as a Miami Dolphins, which excites Eric.
A few things to think about while listening to the show:
- Can the Dallas Cowboys make a run again in the 2019-2020 NFL Season or will their lack of spending in free agency cause a downfall?
- Is the NFC East the worst division in football?
- Do you think it is a possibility that Dwyane Haskins falls to the Miami Dolphins at pick number 13? Would that be a dream pick for Dolphins fans?
