This week, longtime NFL quarterback Chase Daniel discussed the possibility of Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders moving from the college level to the professional one next season. Speaking specifically about Coach Prime leading the Jerry Jones-owned Dallas Cowboys, Daniel questioned whether Prime Time would enjoy coaching in the NFL.
In recent weeks, there have been questions surrounding where Sanders will coach next campaign. Some believe the recruitment of high school quarterback Julian Lewis signals his decision to stay at the University of Colorado. Others detail how they think the 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee has his sights set on the National Football League.
What Did Chase Daniel Say About Sanders?
While discussing Sanders on Fox Sports’ The Facility, Daniel discussed how Sanders’ role would be different in an NFL locker room than it has been in his collegiate coaching career to this point.
“Coach Prime enjoys the impact he makes on kids lives. I don’t know if you can make that same amount of impact in the NFL”, Daniel stated.

Daniel continued by alluding to comments made the day prior by two-time Super Bowl champion head coach and 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Johnson.
“No, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Don’t get me wrong, I love Deion, I love Prime. But his strength is bringing in talent. He’s got an outstanding coaching staff. That’s one reason why they’ve got where they are. But I don’t see it happening there in Dallas,” Johnson commented.
Has Coach Prime Given Any Indication About His Future?
There is no doubting the phenomenal job Sanders has done for the Buffaloes’ football program since arriving in late 2022.
This season, the Buffaloes are in fourth position in the Big 12 conference and boast an 8-3 record, only one season removed from their 12th place, 4-8 finish. In addition, Sanders has been an instrumental force behind the rapid development of quarterback/son, Shedeur, and dual-threat receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.
It currently remains unclear whether Sanders will remain with the Buffaloes, move to another college program, or make the jump to the professional level.
Despite the Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants appearing to be potential landing spots should Coach Prime make an NFL move, it is pure speculation at this time.
