The waiver wire often holds hidden gems that can provide consistent scoring while flying under the radar. Cam Little, Jacksonville Jaguars (at TEN)
We are going back to the Cam Little well for a second week. The Jaguars’ kicker rewarded fantasy managers who stuck with him by hammering home two long field goals plus all three of his extra points in an overtime victory over the Cardinals. The Titans are next, and the matchup is pretty similar.
Tennessee allows the ninth most fantasy points per game to kickers. Given their weak defense, the Jaguars should be in scoring range plenty. Given Trevor Lawrence’s inability to find open receivers in the end zone, this offense is prone to stalling out, leading to field goal attempts.
Little has now attempted (and made) multiple field goals in three of his last four. He is clearly over his rough stretch that saw him make zero field goals across two games from Weeks 6-7 and is a great streaming option once again.
Zane Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons (at NYJ)
Taking a kicker on the Falcons is always a good idea from a process standpoint. The reason we couldn’t do it much earlier this season is because Younghoe Koo and Parker Romo were incapable of making field goals.
Since signing with the Falcons three weeks ago, Zane Gonzalez has attempted six field goals and extra points each. He’s made them all.
Atlanta is the perfect type offense that is good enough to move the ball, but not quite good enough to always finish drives. That is even more so the case with Kirk Cousins running the show.
The Jets allow the most fantasy points per game to kickers, making Gonzalez an excellent streaming option this week.
Cade York, K, New Orleans Saints (at MIA)
If you can’t trust McManus, and Fairbairn is taken, Cade York is the man who’ll be taking over from Blake Grupe in New Orleans, after the Saints cut their kicker this week. While York is a new face in New Orleans and has no form to go on, the Saints have stalled out in the red zone at a higher rate than any other team this year.
The team has scored a touchdown on just 34.5% of red zone trips, and has attempted the sixth-most field goals (tied – 26) as a result. York might feel like a swing, but he should be busy on his new team.
