There weren’t many devastating injuries in fantasy football in Week 8 for the first time in a long time. However, there were still some important players who were dinged up and could have an impact on your fantasy lineup in the short term.
Below you’ll find all the significant injuries from Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season.

Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Saquon Barkley suffered a groin injury late in the Philadelphia Eagles’ win against the New York Giants in Week 8. Barkley had his best game of the season before the injury, scoring 33.4 PPR points per game in the win.
The Eagles held a convincing lead when he was injured, so it is hard to say how severe the injury was. There weren’t any indications that he would miss time beyond Week 8.
Philadelphia has a bye in Week 9, so Barkley has plenty of time to heal. He isn’t expected to miss any games, but veteran running back Tank Bigsby could be in line for a bigger role if Barkley doesn’t heal as anticipated.
Quinshon Judkins, RB, Cleveland Browns
Quinshon Judkins suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter of the Cleveland Browns’ loss to the New England Patriots. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game at the start of the fourth quarter.
On Monday, we learned that head coach Kevin Stefanski considered the injury “day-to-day.” There is a chance that Judkins will not miss any time due to the injury. If Judkins is forced to miss time, rookie Dylan Sampson would become a primary waiver wire addition. After Judkins left the game, Sampson handled 19 of 27 snaps in the backfield.
Cam Skattebo, RB, New York Giants
One of the best stories of 2025 ended in Week 8 when New York Giants’ rookie running back Cam Skattebo suffered a severe ankle injury against the Philadelphia Eagles. Skattebo was taken to a hospital after the game, where he was diagnosed with a season-ending dislocated ankle that required surgery.
The Giants’ backfield will now be split between Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary. Tracy is especially intriguing in fantasy as a pass-catching back, given how well Jaxson Dart has played quarterback to start the season.
Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders
Unfortunately, Terry McLaurin’s return to the lineup was not as seamless as the Washington Commanders had hoped. McLaurin seemingly reinjured his quadriceps in the fourth quarter and was removed from the game. The same quad injury has plagued him throughout the 2025 season.
After the game, McLaurin downplayed the injury and stated he would take it “day-by-day.” However, that doesn’t mean he won’t be sidelined again.
The Commanders used veteran Chris Moore as their primary McLaurin replacement earlier in the season, but young players like Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane also saw increased roles.
Luther Burden III, WR, Chicago Bears
It seems like Luther Burden III’s rookie bump may be delayed after the 2025 second-round pick suffered a concussion in the Chicago Bears’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8.
Burden will now have to go through the concussion protocol and is at risk of missing Week 9.
