Fantasy TE Tiers and Streamers Week 12: Logan Thomas, Josiah Deguara, and Austin Hooper are streaming options

With Travis Kelce on a bye week, how do our TE tiers shake out, and who can you trust as TE streamers for Week 12?

Week 12 has all kinds of great games on the slate, but a couple of powerhouse offenses — the Kansas City Chiefs and the Arizona Cardinals — are on bye this week. With the Chiefs off the schedule, fantasy football will be without the overall TE1 in Travis Kelce. How do our TE tiers stack up, and who can be used as TE streamers in Week 12?

Week 12 Streamers

Hopefully, your Thanksgiving feast is more plentiful than the streaming options at the tight end position this week. But there are still some players worthy of your consideration.

Logan Thomas, Washington Football Team

Let’s start with a little Thanksgiving tip — if you’re reading this on Tuesday, it’s time to start thawing out that turkey. Just like that turkey being pulled out of the deep freezer, Logan Thomas looks slated to return from injured reserve just in time for a Week 12 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Yes, I just called Thomas a turkey. Don’t read into that.

Thomas — last year’s TE6 — has been on IR since Week 4 but is scheduled to return to practice this week with the hope of playing on Sunday. If everything goes according to plan, he’ll immediately slot right back in as a low-end TE1 against a Seahawks defense that is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.

Thomas is currently only rostered in 56.9% of fantasy leagues on NFL.com. If he’s available in yours, fix that.

Josiah Deguara, Green Bay Packers

Here’s a deep dive for you. With Robert Tonyan on IR, Josiah Deguara has been the one to see more work. I’ll level with you — he’s not a huge part of Green Bay’s offense. He’s seen 2 or fewer targets in all but one game this season, but he did find the end zone last week.

This isn’t a huge ceiling play, but Aaron Rodgers likes looking the way of his tight ends in the red zone. The Packers are playing a Rams defense that is allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Los Angeles has given up a receiving touchdown to opposing tight ends in three straight weeks. Deguara is completely touchdown-dependent for fantasy purposes, but he’s worth a dart throw if you don’t have any other options.

Austin Hooper, Cleveland Browns

Ever since the Browns moved on from Odell Beckham Jr., Austin Hooper has seen an uptick in usage in this offense. After averaging 3.1 targets per game over the first nine weeks, Hooper has seen 12 targets in the last two weeks, turning 8 receptions into 78 yards and a touchdown. His value is on the rise.

The Baltimore defense has been exploitable as a unit, giving up massive chunk plays on a weekly basis. They also allow the 11th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends. The Browns want to go heavy with their ground game and tight end play, and Hooper should continue to be a big part of Cleveland’s offense going forward.
