Top TEs To Start in Week 13

Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans

After being a rock-solid option in fantasy football lineups for the past several weeks, Dalton Schultz came crashing down to earth in a big way in Week 12 with just two total targets for one reception and two yards.

Even with the Houston Texans entering a bit of a shootout with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Schultz wasn’t able to command much volume. However, that needs to be immediately thrown out and put to the side for a few reasons.

Schultz has been a fantastic fantasy option up to this point of the season, and every single TE is going to have down performances; it’s the nature of the position. Additionally, the Texans get to take on the Denver Broncos’ defense in Week 13.

The Broncos are currently allowing the most fantasy points per contest to opposing tight ends. Schultz has the path in front of him to immediately jump back into the top five of rankings. He’s in my starting lineups if I’ve got him.

Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

One of my favorite dart-throw selections late in drafts this year was Cade Otton for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While there wasn’t necessarily the path for top-five upside in this offense with the other receiving weapons Tampa Bay has to offer, Otton’s talent level should allow him to be a solid and safe option for fantasy lineups week in and week out.

That’s what we’re seeing develop here in recent weeks. Otton has slowly — but surely — emerged as a reliable receiving option in the short to intermediate levels of the field for Baker Mayfield, and it’s equating to fantasy production. Over the past month, Otton has been the TE8 in all of fantasy football!

If you’re tired of hunting around the position with players like Kyle Pitts or Gerald Everett, Otton’s a fine stable option to plug in down the stretch.
