Fantasy kicker rankings and streamers Week 4: Jake Elliott and Chris Boswell are top options

Knowing which kickers to start in fantasy football can be critical to winning your matchups. This position, arguably more so than any other, is matchup dependent on a weekly basis, and the best results can be obtained by being flexible with a streaming strategy. Here’s a look at our Week 4 fantasy kicker rankings and the top options to stream this week.

Top fantasy kicker streamers in Week 4

One week is not enough of a sample to fully evaluate teams, but at least we have some information to work with heading into Week 4. Here are my top fantasy kicker streamers, all of whom are rostered in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues.

Jake Elliott, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. JAX)

Through three weeks, Jake Elliott has been just fine. He’s scored six, eight, and eight fantasy points. Elliott has made three of his four field goal attempts and all 11 of his extra points.

The real problem for Elliott has been the extra points — there have just been too many of them. Jalen Hurts’ apparent ascent into the ranks of the elite NFL quarterbacks has the Eagles scoring touchdowns as opposed to settling for field goals.

Nevertheless, we want to target kickers in offenses that project to score a lot of points. The Eagles are averaging 28.7 points this season. They’re at home against a surprisingly formidable Jaguars defense that could be just good enough to slow down Hurts to the point of forcing a couple of field goals. Rostered in just 37% of leagues, Elliott is a great streaming option in Week 4.

Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. NYJ)

For starters, Chris Boswell is just a great kicker. Notwithstanding his disastrous 2018 season, Boswell has made over 90% of his kicks.

This season, Boswell has made six of his eight field goal attempts, but one of those misses took place last Thursday night in swirling winds. He actually kicked it perfectly, but the wind gave it no shot. He’s incredibly accurate.

The New York Jets defense currently allows 27 points per game. The Steelers have an offense that should be good enough to move the ball, but not quite good enough to punch the ball into the end zone.

Boswell is a strong bet for multiple field goal attempts this week. He’s rostered in just 18% of leagues and makes for an excellent streaming option in Week 4.

Graham Gano, New Yor Giants (vs. CHI)

This Giants team is well-suited to supporting a streamer at the K position. They have a decent enough offense that can get into scoring position against weaker defenses, but not one that is good enough to consistently score touchdowns.

After not attempting a field goal in Week 1, Gano made all four of his attempts in Week 2. He also made all three of his kicks in Week 3, including two 50-yarders.

The Chicago Bears surrendered two field goal attempts to Ka’imi Fairbairn in Week 3. He made both of them. This is also a team with a very weak offense that often leaves its opponents with decent field position with which to score field goals.

Expect a low-scoring game where scoring three points is more valuable than in other contests. The Giants will look to win this game with ball control and defense, which should result in multiple field goal attempts if they get conservative in scoring position. I like Gano as a sneaky streamer in Week 4.
